DELHI POLICE BUSTED MODULE INVOLVED IN SELLING ILLEGAL FIREARMS THROUGH FACEBOOK AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

ONE PERSON R/O RAJASTHAN HAVING PAST CRIMINAL ANTECEDENTS ARRESTED, ONE SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL & TWO LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED,  INVESTIGATION REVEALS LINKAGES ACROSS THE BORDER&WITH ANTI-NATIONAL ELEMENTS THROUGH VIRTUAL NUMBERS ON WHATSAPP & THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS,  HE USED TO CHEAT BUDDING AND NAÏVE CRIMINALS, SUPPLIED ARMS & AMMUNITION TO ESTABLISHED & DREADED CRIMINALS,  PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 11 CRIMINAL CASES

IFSO Unit of Special Cell has busted a module operating over social media involved in selling illegal weapons. With the arrest of one person namely Hitesh Singh (Age 38 years) @ LangraS/o Komal Singh R/o 136, Olympic Road Cinema, Girdhari Singh ki Haveli, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the modus operandi and linkages of this module have been uncovered.

Mr. K P S Malhotra, DCP/IFSO Unit Special Cell, Delhi, said, during Social Media monitoring, it came to notice that someFacebook profiles/Urlhad shared the Post/ Videos in which they are offering sale of illegal arms/weapons. They had also displayed the photographs and videos of weapons and ammunition on their Facebook pages. The most prominent group out of these was a group in the name of LAWRENCE BISHNOI GROUP. Since, the matter was of utmost importance after the alleged killing of Gangster Jitender Gogi in Rohini Court Shoot out, the matter was taken up at IFSO, Special Cell and a case under appropriate sections of law was registered.

During course of investigation, Facebook profiles related to Lawrence Bishnoi were searched and found that out of friend’s list/members list on Facebook one Hitesh Rajput @ Hirpal Singh was also having a separate profile on Facebook, who was also offering to the illegal firearms for sale.Through technical surveillance and human intelligence,the active profiles of Hirpal Singh were identified. A deal was struck with the Facebook profile Ids & communication was undertaken on various social media platforms. During communication, the weapon videos were shared by Hirpal Singh & the advance money for the same was deposited in the bank account provided by him

A deal was struck with the Facebook profile Ids & communication was undertaken on various social media platforms. During communication, the weapon videos were shared by Hirpal Singh & the advance money for the same was deposited in the bank account provided by him.

The operation was undertaken by the team under the supervision of ACP Sh. Raman Lamba and comprising of Inspr. Praveen, SI Sunil, ASI Ajeet, HC Harikishan, HC Atul, Cts Yoginder, Vijender and Rajesh. Alleged namely Hitesh Singh @ Langra was apprehended from Manesar, Haryana, when he came to receive the remaining amount. He was arrested and his mobile phone was forensically examined, which generated further workable inputs/leads and the same are being developed.

He had connections with anti-national elements and across the border also. Accused Hitesh Singh is a habitual offender and is a frequent jail inmate in various jails of Rajasthan. During his undertrial prison period, he developed connections with other criminals. Further, it has been revealed that he used to cheat the budding/naïve criminals and only supplies arms to the notorious criminals/gangs.

During interrogation, it was revealed that he had started his criminal activities way back in the year 2010. He along with his friend had committed theft in a book shop. After coming out from jail, he started stealing bikes and selling them. In jail he met one Dacoit Dhan Singh Peeproli @ Thakur Dhanu Pratap Singh Rathore who became his mentor.

In 2013, while Hitesh Singh was released on bail from Jodhpur jail, his mentor Dhan Singh Peeproli gave him a task to kill one Shaitan Singh Tekra (Owner of Inayat Bus Service). Hitesh Singh planned contract killing and executed the firing but Shaitan Singh escaped unhurt. The back ground of the firing was that Shaitan Singh was dominating the whole Rajasthan in running private bus service and the smaller players had contacted Dhan Singh Peeproli to kill Shaitan Singh. Likewise, Hitesh Singh was once involved in robbery at a Toll in Rajsthan in which the whole staff of Toll was made to lie down and was beaten up badly.

5. Case FIR No. 33/14 dated 20.01.2014 U/s 307 IPC & 3/25 Arms Act PS Partap Nagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
6. Case FIR No. 48/14 dated 03.02.2014 U/s 3/25 Arms Act PS Partap Nagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
7. Case FIR No. 64/14 dated 16.02.2014 U/s 379 IPC PS Shastri Nagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
