The Surinder Jakhar Trust organised ‘School Talent Search”competitions for the first time in government schools located in villages of Abohar.

SJT Chief Trustee Jaiveer Jakhar said that it has often been seen that the talent of children studying in government schools remains suppressed.So, different kindsof competitions were organized in the government schools of villages Sappanwali, Gidderanwali, Maujgarh, Killianwali, Panjkosi and Danewala Satkosi villages in which hundreds of children participated and showed their talent.

The children displayed their art in Rangoli, Mehndi, chart making, dance, painting. Praising their spirit, Jakhar said that there is no dearth of talent in children, there is a need to providethem a platform to show their talent not only here but at the state and national level.

He said that IFFCO ex-chairman Surinder Jakhar, recipient of the Best Co-operator Award in Punjab, had launched “Nashon se door, khelon ki aur” campaign to associate youth with sports and other creative activities to help them stay away from evils like drugs. Taking his legacy, we are organizing various activities and competitions in villages and cities, he added.

Winners in the competitions were awarded prizes on the occasion. District Planning Board Chairman Balbir Singh Danewalia, Sarpanches Om Prakash, Surjit Kaur, Balram, Subhash Chander and RASA state vice president Sham Lal Arora were also present.
