Abohar: 61 Cavalry Polo Team reached another milestone of excellence as its two regiment teams playing in two different centers namely Kolkata and Jodhpur reached the finals of their respective tournaments which were contested on the same day.
A feat sine qua non as no known teams in the recent seasons have ever achieved this landmark. 61 Cavalry Polo team at Kolkata Polo season won the Rising Sun Polo Cup at Pat Williamson Polo Ground defeating Col Girdhari Singh/ Army Service Corps team in a keenly contested match by 6 goals to 5.
While playing at Jodhpur Polo Season the team went down fighting to ‘Achievers DB Realty’ in a high 10 Goal tournament. Earlier the 61 Cavalry team got the better of the home favorites Jodhpur Polo Team comprising two Arjuna Awardee players and the Rajanigandha Achievers Polo Team which played with a high rated foreign professional Polo player.
