LOST MONEY IN ONLINE CRICKET BETTING APP, LODGED FALSE FIR OF ROBBERY TO MEET THE LOSS

OWNER OF MOBILE SHOPS CONCOCTED STORY UNEARTHED BY AATS/SWD WITHIN IN 24 HOURS TO COVER LOSS OF MONEY IN AN ONLINE CRICKET BETTING. POLICE   INITIATING LEGAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST THE PERSON FOR LODGING FALSE AND CONCOCTED FIR OF ROBBERY AT PS KAPASHERA.

The team of AATS of South West Distt has worked out a sensational fake case of intoxication and robbery of Rs 3.14 lakh registered at PS Kapashera within 24 hours of registration and arrested complainant who fabricated a false story to police to cover up his loss in online cricket betting. The team also recovered key of scooty thrown by complainant from forest area of village Rajokari .
 
On 10-01-2022, a PCR call regarding robbery of Rs. 3.14 lakh by two accused persons by intoxicating and abducting the complainant namely Arjun Kumar KesriR/o Nalaa Road, Kapashera, New Delhi aged 26 years.

The call was entrusted to SI Sanjay Pangal for enquiry. The IO along with the staff reached at house of complainant, who narrated that on 10-01-2022, at about 1 PM, he had taken cash of Rs 80000/- from his friends namelyRahul and Irshad, then he took some more cash from his home after taking total amount of Rs 3, 14000/- kept in Dikky of his scooty bearing no DL-12 SP 8498.

He was going from Kapashera to Karol Bagh for purchasing mobile. When he reached near Farm No. 14, KapasheraEstate two boys standing in the way hit him near a blind turn, as a result of which he fell down. In the meantime, the accused intoxicated him with some drug and made him unconscious. Thereafter, he was made to sit between the rider and pillion on his own scooty after being blindfolded with a scarf clothing.

Thereafter, he was made to roam around three to four hours along with them and then he found himself in the abandoned remote jungle of Rajokari village, Delhi. Thereafter they handed over the key of the scooty to him and asked him to open the dikki of scooty. In order to save his cash from the accused, he threw the key in the bushes of the jungle. On this they hit him with fists and then they forcefully opened the dikki and ran away with the cash kept in the dikky of scooty, leaving him and the scooty behind.

He was lying in an unconscious state at the spot and requested some passers-by to help him. After sometime, one person came to his help whom he asked to call his brother. On this, he conveyed his position and problem to his brother, hearing which his brother and friends reached the spot and took the complainant to his home and reported the matter to police. Thereafter police recorded his statement and a case under relevant section of law was registered at PS Kapashera and investigation taken up.

INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION: As the matter was of serious concern, several teams of PS Kapashera, AATS and Special Staff were constituted by undersigned to detect the case immediately.The AATS team comprising of SI Anand, ASI Parveen, HC Jaipal Pravin, Ct.Aakash, Ct.Ravinder, CtRaghmender led by Inspector Rajesh Malik, IC/AATS/South West Distt under overall supervision of ACP/Ops ShAbhinendra Jain acted swiftly and took the complainant to the spot and visited the route taken by alleged accused. The team started verifying the allegations against the accused. During interrogation of complainant, suspicion arose on his statement as complainant was changing his version on the basis of police questions and failed to give out complete chain of events.

Mr. Gaurav Sharma, IPS, DCP said, the analysis of the CCTV footage and CDR records further pointed the needle of suspicion towards the complainant himself. During further sustained interrogation, the accused confessed that he himself concocted the whole story and that he was neither robbed nor abducted or intoxicated as earlier stated by him in FIR.Police has initiated legal proceedings under appropriate section of law against the complainant now accused, who lodged this false FIR of robbery and gave misleading statements and misused the state machinery for his personal adventure. 

Meanwhile, the CDR of the mobile phone of the complainant was also obtained and CCTV footages of more than 20 locations en-route from Kapashera to Rajokariwere analysed by different teams with a view to unearth the crime.

Police has initiated legal proceedings under appropriate section of law against the complainant now accused, who lodged this false FIR of robbery and gave misleading statements and misused the state machinery for his personal adventure. 

Since the cash was profit of joint business of mobile handset sell with his brothers and to cover up his loss in online cricket betting, he has paid an amount of Rs 3.14 Lakhs to one Kapil and cleared the debts incurred by complainant due to online betting in cricket game. It was done with a view to explain his brothers about the loss of money. 

Arjun Kumar Kesari is running mobile shops in the area of PS Kapashera and Dundahera (Gurugram) in the name of “Jagdamba Communications” jointly with his brothers. The accused is illiterate but he take care of all the cash and purchasing of mobile shops. In order to earn easy and fast money, he got involved in online cricket gambling and started investing money.

Initially, he won several times but he lost a huge amount in the betting about 2-3 days back.In order to recover, his losses, he put more bets but finally lost all. In order to clear his debts, he planned to misappropriate the money from his brothers by concocting a false story of robbery, abduction and intoxication. After paying amount to a bookie, he went to Karol Bagh to purchase mobiles but shopkeepers didn’t supply him on credit. Thereafter, he went to Rajokari village’s remote forest area and dumped his scooty and mobile phone to give colour of robbery to police and his brothers.
