Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Ferozepur (Rural) Ashu Bangar today resigned from the party. Later during the day, he joined hands with Congress in the presence of CM Charanjit Singh Channi at Chandigarh. He was also announced as Congress candidate from Ferozepur (Rural) constituency.

While terming AAP as an “anti-farmer” party, Bangar, during a press conference in Ferozepur, alleged that the party has betrayed with the old party workers. Bangar also alleged that there is no internal democracy in AAP either.

Bangar slammed the AAP leadership including AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha and said that Chadha is trying to keep the state leadership aside and trying to make the decision himself which cannot be tolerated. He also alleged that party is “Anti-farmers”. “Raghav Chadha tried to diminish the image of the Punjab farmers by saying that the farmers are working with BJP’s support. Besides, the party also tried to hatch the conspiracy against the farmers and provoked farmer union leader Balvir Singh Rajowal to contest elections. The party even promised to make Rajowal the CM of Punjab but later backed out”, alleged Bangar.

“I had joined AAP with great hope. I believed that AAP could bring the change in the politics. I also firmly believed that the party’s internal democracy will be strong and the party workers would take the decisions independently but all my hopes have been dashed down now”, he said while addressing the media persons.
