DUO OF CHEATS WHO WITHDREW MONEY THROUGH MOBILE PAYMENT GATEWAY FROM THEIR ROOM-MATE’S ACCOUNT ARRESTED

MOBILE PHONE USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME AND RS. 2,65,000/-FREEZED IN ACCOUNT OF ACCUSED

The staff comprising of SI Ajeet Singh Yadav, HC Rambir Singh, Ct. Raju Ram of Cyber Police Station, South District has done commendable work by arresting two cheats namely Shiv Nanadan Kumar and Mohd. Zabir in case FIR No.01/2021 u/s 420 IPC PS Cyber Police Station, South District. The mobile phone used in commission of crime was recovered and the cheated amount of Rs. 2,65,000/- was frozen in the accused’s account with prompt action of police staff. 

Shiv Nanadan Kumar S/o Late Shri Panna Lal Das R/o Village- Bagrouli Tola, Panchayat- Mahkhar, PS- Bakhtiyarpur, District- Sahrasha, Bihar. Age- 24 Years. Mohd. Zabir S/o Md. Hasan R/o Jangpura, New Delhi. He was previously found to be involved in a case FIR No. 263/2019, u/s 376 IPC, PS- Hazarat Nizamuddin. Age- 24 Years.

A complainant had reported that on 07.11.21, his mobile number went out of service so he called customer care to resolve the issue and on 11.11.21, the complainant got another new SIM card issued and went to his Bank to give a written request to change his mobile number registered in his bank account where he came to know that Rs.3,45,001/- were withdrawn/cheated from his account without his knowledge. Accordingly, on statement of the complainant, a case vide FIR No.01/2021 u/s 420 IPC was registered at Cyber Police Station, South and investigation was taken up.

BENITA MARY JAIKER) IPSm,  Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, during the course of investigation, a team of District Cyber Police Station, South comprising of SI Ajeet Singh Yadav, HC Rambir Singh, and Ct. Raju Ram headed by Inspr. Vipin Kumar SHO/PS Cyber Police Station under overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, ACP/Ops was formed to investigate the matter. The team was briefed to work in tandem on all aspects of the case.Accordingly, the team collected the transaction details of bank account, linked mobile phones and analyzed the same thoroughly.

The team was briefed to work in tandem on all aspects of the case.

Accordingly, the team collected the transaction details of bank account, linked mobile phones and analyzed the same thoroughly. The complainant was also enquired in the matter who disclosed that he was residing with another person as a room partner in his rented house. On analysis the bank statement, it was found that the amount of Rs.3,45,001/- was withdrawn from the complainant’s account from 07.11.2021 to 10.11.2021 through a mobile payment gateway from another mobile phone. However, the team worked continuously on various aspects of beneficiary account and used all possible techniques and tools. The consistent efforts of the team yielded results when one technical lead was found from the alleged mobile phone.

The details of the beneficiary account in which the money was transferred was obtained. On getting the lead, the team deployed their sources and froze Rs.2,65,000/- cheated amount in the accused person’s account. Through surveillance and technical analysis, location of the accused was zeroed down. Accordingly, on 16.01.21, the team conducted a raid and arrested one person namely Shiv Nandan Kumar, the room partner of the complainant. He disclosed his involvement in the above said crime alongwith his accomplice. Upon his instance, the accomplice named Mohd. Zabir was also arrested. Upon his instance, 01 mobile phone used in commission of crime has been recovered. Further investigation is underway. The staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.
