BIG JOLT TO CONGRESS: SUNIL JAKHAR ULTIMATELY JOINED BJP IN PRESENCE OF JP NADDA

Congress Veteran  leader former President of Punjab unit Sunil Jakhar on Thursday joined BJP in presence of National BJP President Mr. J.P. Nadda and other BJP leaders in New Delhi. The Jakhar family was with Congress for a period of 50 years.

Sunil Jakhar had a big political explosion on Saturday  on 14th May  when Former Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar, hurt by the issuance of show cause notice against him and came live on Facebook and spoke his heart out and says Goof bye t o Congress and also says Good Luck....

Jakhar had distanced himself from active politics during the Punjab Assembly elections 2022. Jakhar had said that he would no longer be in active politics But now that he has joined the BJP, Jakhar's political role will be worth watching.

Sunil Jakhar is known in Punjab as a great Hindu leader. Apart from this, Jakhar also specializes in cultivating other classes Jakhar's efficient and calm and clean personality affects everyone. 

Sunil Jakhar is the son of former Union Minister and Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar a close associate of slained PM smt. Indira Gandhi. Sunil Jakhar, born in 1954 in Panjkosi village of Abohar now in Fazilka District, has been elected MLA from Abohar three times between 2002 and 2017. Meanwhile, Jakhar had lost to BJP candidate from Abohar assembly seat in 2017 from Arun Narang, a councellor of BJP.

Sunil Jakhar was first choice of 42 MLAs after resignation of Captain Amrinder Singh as CM, but party nominated Charanjit Singh Channi as CM. Both were holding the post of opposition leader in the past in Punjab Assembly.

Sunil Jakhar had also successfully contested the by-election from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat after the death of BJP MP Vinod Khanna in 2017, but during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Jakhar lost the Gurdaspur seat by a margin of more than 82,000 votes to BJP candidate and actor Sunny Deol.

It may not be out of place to mentioned here that Mr. Sandeep Jakhar , a nephew of Sunil Jakhar was elected MLA from Abohar constituency  defeating BJP Candidate Arun Narang, Ex MLA Mohinder Rinwa.
