MOHALI POLICE BUSTED INTERSTATE GANG OF BANK ROBBERS, TWO ARRESTED

Sh. Vivek Sheel Soni IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police briefed the media that in a major break through Police cracked the case in which robbers barged into Central Cooperative Bank, Gharuan after cutting the wall and strong room on the intervening night of 04/05-05-2022 and fled away with Rs 18 Lakh cash.

Two accused namely Mohit Sharma s/o Dinesh Sharma r/o Village Aligarh Jargama, UP and Ajay Kumar s/o Bira r/o Village Karsindo Distt Jind, Haryana were arrested from Randhawa road, T-point Peer Sohana by Mohali Police team.

Both arrested accused are members of interstate gang which operates in North India. They were arrested along with splender motorcycle, cutter and grinder machine which were used in the crime. They were arrested in case FIR No. 89 dated 05-05-2022 u/s 457, 380, 34 IPC PS Sadar Kharar Distt SAS Nagar.

SSP further briefed that with the arrest of two accused, other three members of the gang involved in this bank theft were also identified namely Amit @ Token, Anil and Mechi all residents of Distt Jind, Haryana, are still at large and yet to be arrested. This is an interstate gang who already carried out several bank theft incidents in different states. More than dozen criminal cases registered against these accused. Further investigation is in process.
