A special lecture was organized on the topic of “ORAL HEALTH AWARENESS AMONG YOUTH” ON 25.05.2022 AT 7:30 PM in the common room of Boys Hostel no. 3. (Bhatnagar Hall).

Dr. J.S. Sehrawat, Warden, BH-3, welcomed and introduced the speaker to the large gathering of audience present in the Common Room of the hostel. Dr. Jayasankar Pillai, Professor, Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Ahmadabad, Gujarat, was the speaker who delivered a very informative lecture and cleared various myths about dental hygiene and its maintenance.

He provided valuable and interesting information and oral hygiene tips to the staff and residents, particularly how to maintain sound oral health, prevent dental problems and oral health awareness. He advised proper brushing of teeth twice a day, floss regularly, replacement of tooth-brush within three months and timely reporting of any dental abnormality/problem to the dentist for a checkup and cleaning and to prevent further deterioration of oral hygiene and comfort.

Tell the dentist about any medical conditions you have and medications you take and advised eat a well-balanced diet and quit smoking for a healthy and prolonged life. He warned that smoking increases risks for gum diseases and oral cancers.

Dr. Jayasankar Pillai, promised to visit again and offered consultations to residents to resolve their issues, if any. The program ended with a vote of thanks to all.
