GRAVE & HENIOUS CASE OF ROBBERY WORKED OUT WITH THE ARREST OF TWO HABITUAL CRIMINALS BY THE NIGHT PATROLLING STAFF OF PS KASHMERE GATE, ONE KNIFE USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME AND ONE ROBBED MOBILE PHONE OF THE COMPLAINANT RECOVERED AT THE SPOT FROM THEIR POSSESSION, BOTH THE ACCUSED HAVE CRIMINAL HISTORY WITH INVOLVEMENT IN 29 & 36 CASES RESPECTIVELY.

Keeping in view, the regular directions of senior officers regarding checking the menace of criminals and to curb street crime, police presence has been increased in the beat area of PS Kashmere Gate by regular area patrolling and conducting random picket checking during odd hours to surprise the criminals. PS Kashmere Gate staff has also been directed for maximum use of ROKO-TOKO strategy of Delhi Police.
The complainant Shri Makhanlal Yadav, r/o PS Nababganj, District Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, age-33 years, (Who does private job in Gurugram, Haryana), reported in his complaint that on 24.05.2022 he came from his work place and reached Delhi as he had to proceed his native village in Uttar Pradesh. At about 10:00 PM, he reached in-front of GPO, Kashmere Gate and was on the way to Old Delhi Railway Station. Suddenly two unknown persons came from behind and one of them pointed a knife at his waist and another one caught his hands and robbed his mobile phone from his pant pocket forcefully and both of them fled away towards Chhatta Rail by pushing him. The complainant raised alarm and also tried to chase them.
Ct Kuldeep and Ct Abhishek of Police Station, Kashmere Gate were patrolling in the area, under the close supervision of Inspr. Dharmender Kumar, SHO/PS Kashmere Gate and guidance of Shri Vijay Singh, ACP/Kotwali.
Fortunately, the above said patrolling team was passing through the place of incident and they heard the noise and immediately swung into action and joined the chase. Ultimately, the valour police patrolling team succeeded in apprehending the suspects strategically after some distance.
On their cursory search, One Button Actuated Knife and one mobile phone recovered from their possession. In the meantime, the person who was chasing them also reached there and alleged that both these persons have robbed his mobile phone on the point of knife and they were escaping from the spot.
The apprehended accused persons were identified as Javed @ Gohhar, age-33 years and Javed @ Rustam, age-40 years. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 351/22, dated 25.05.2022, u/s 392/397/411/34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered on the complaint of Shri Makhanlal Yadav and investigation was taken up.
Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, said, during interrogation, both the accused persons confessed that both of them have robbed one mobile phone from the complainant on the point of a knife and they were escaping from the spot.
Accused Javed @ Gohhar disclosed that he purchased the knife from an unknown person for Rs. 700/-, who met him in the area of Seelampur, Delhi about three months ago and he was using the same for committing criminal activities and to terrorise the gullible people.
On sustained interrogation, it revealed that both the accused persons are habitual and desperate criminals. The accused Javed @ Gohhar has been found involved in 29 criminal cases of Attempt to Murder, Robbery, Snatching, Extortion, M.O. Women, Theft, Arms Act and Gambling Act registered in different Police Stations of Delhi. He is an active BC of PS Welcome, Delhi and was released from jail in the month of July, 2021.
Whereas, the accused Javed @ Rustam has a criminal history of involvements in 36 cases of Preparation of Dacoity, Attempt to Murder, Robbery, Snatching, Theft, Arms Act and NDPS Act registered in different police stations of Delhi. He is also an active BC of PS Welcome, Delhi and was released from jail in the month of April, 2022.
The accused Javed @ Gohhar is active in criminal activities since the year 2007 and accused Javed @ Rustam is active in such activities since the year 2002 and both are continuously committing crime since long. Both are also alcoholic and drug addict hence, they commit criminal activities to earn easy money and fulfil their lust of drugs and alcohol.

Women, Theft, Arms Act and Gambling Act registered at Police Stations Shahadara, Seelampur, Welcome, MS Park, Nand Nagri, Darya Ganj, Bhajanpura, Karawal Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Seemapuri, Gokulpuri and Chandni Mahal).
Javed @ Rustam r/o Janta Colony, Welcome, Delhi, age-40 years. (Previously found involved in 36 cases of Preparation of Dacoity, Attempt to Murder, Robbery, Snatching, Theft, Arms Act and NDPS Act registered at Police Stations, Seelampur, Welcome, GTB Enclave, Kotwali, Kashmere Gate, Jafrabad, Gandhi Nagar, Sarai Rohilla, Chandni Chowk, Krishna Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar and Crime Branch).
The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to affect more recovery from the accused persons as well as to ascertain the involvement of other associates in their group.
