WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM CAPTAIN WELCOMED

Abohar: Indian Women U-18 Volleyball team captain Kavita Suthar was warmly welcomed on her return from Thailand yesterday at Hanumangarh railway station.

District police chief Dr. Ajay Singh, Municipal Council chairman Ganesh Raj Bansal, Volleyball coach Basant Singh Mann, ADM Pratibha Devthia, Additional SP Jassa Ram Bose, Additional SP (ACB) Tejpal Singh, DPRO Suresh Bishnoi, Bar Association president Manjinder Singh Legha , Councilor Sumit Rinwa, District Olympic Association president Malkiat Singh Mann, District Volleyball Association secretary Nirmal Singh Poonia, former Volleyball player Vikram Singh Mann, Hockey Coach Harbir Singh Saran, District Wrestling Association secretary Janak Singh Pehalwan greeted Kavita. 

Kavita, a class 12 student, from Silwala Khurd village led as the captain of the Under-18 national volleyball team in the 23rd Asian U-18 Women's Volleyball Championship held in Thailand. Kavita's father Subhash Chander runs a spare parts shop in the village itself.

Kavita has played twice in Mini National, once in Sub Junior National and School National Team. She won Silver in Sub Junior National.She was the only female player from North India in the U-18 Indian women's volleyball team.
