FACING VIGILANCE ACTION SANJAY POPLI'S IAS SON KARTIK DIES OF BULLET INJURY, VIGILANCE RECOVERED 12 KG GOLD

In a sensational incident Kartik (29) son of an IAS Sanjay Popli reportedly died of bullter injury  in Sector 11 in a revolver of his father at official residence this afternoon. Meanwhile Vigilance Bureau spokesman said, four days after the arrest of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sanjay Popli in corruption case, the Vigilance Bureau on Saturday recovered over 12Kg Gold, 3Kg Silver, four Apple iPhones, one Samsung Fold Phone and two Samsung Smartwatches from storeroom of his house at Sector 11, Chandigarh.

Sanjay Popli 2008 IAS Batch Officer was  recently arrested by the Vigilance Team in a corruption case of accepting and demanding 1 percent commission  for allotment of sewerage tenders worth crores of rupees from Karnal Contractor. He was to be produced before the court after completing the police remand in Distt. Court of Mohali. 

Kartik a law student was died on the spot following bullet injury. His body is being sent for postportem examination.

Chandigarh Police  top officers and officials rushed to the spot and  and investigating. Police investigating whether kartik shoot himself or some mishap during argument of vigilance raid. Kartik mother alleging some vigilance man shot him dead.

The official Spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that based on the statement of Sanjay Popli, the team of Vigilance Bureau conducted a raid at his residence and recovered the gold, silver and mobile phones concealed in the storeroom of his house. 

Meanwhile some reports said Kartik Popli committed suicide with the revolver of his father in the presence of raiding Vigilance Team.  Vigilance denied and said, the incident took place when the team returned after huge recovery from Popli home at H.No. 520, sector 11, Chandigarh,

In the meantime Vigilance Bureau spokesman said, four days after the arrest of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sanjay Popli in corruption case, the Vigilance Bureau on Saturday recovered over 12Kg Gold, 3Kg Silver, four Apple iPhones, one Samsung Fold Phone and two Samsung Smartwatches from storeroom of his house at Sector 11, Chandigarh.

The 12Kg Gold includes 9 Gold Bricks (each 1kg), 49 Gold biscuits and 12 Gold coins, while 3Kg silver includes 3 Silver bricks (each 1kg) and 18 silver coins (each 10 grams). 

IAS officer Sanjay Popli was arrested on June 20, for allegedly demanding a 1% commission as a bribe of Rs 7 lakhs for clearance of tenders for laying of sewerage pipeline at Nawanshahr. His accomplice identified as Sandeep Wats was also arrested from Jalandhar.
