AJMAL @ PAHADI GOT INJURED IN RIGHT LEG IN THE FIRING.,  ACCUSED WAS CARRYING A REWARD OF RS. 1 LAKH ON THE INFORMATION LEADING TO HIS ARREST FROM UP POLICE. ONE SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL OF .32 BORE WITH 08 LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED FROM ACCUSED. AJMAL @ PAHADI WAS INVOLVED IN MORE THAN ONE DOZEN CASES OF MURDER, ATTEMPT TO MURDER, EXTORTION, ASSAULT, HURT, THREATENING, TRESPASS, THEFT, ARMS ACT ETC. IN UP AND DELHI.

A team of Special Cell, Southern Range led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar and Inspr. Jitender supervised by ACP Attar Singh has arrested a notorious absconding criminal of Delhi NCR namely Mohd. Ajmal @ Pahadi (age 38 yrs) s/o Mohd. Aslam r/o Khadda Colony, Jaitpur, Delhi after a brief exchange of fire in the area of PS Badarpur in South-East Delhi on Friday.

In said exchange of fire, Ajmal @ Pahadi got injured in his right leg. One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore with 8 live cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the accused i.e. 3 in his pistol and 5 from his possession. A Splendor motorcycle has also been recovered from accused at the spot. Arrested accused Ajmal @ Pahadi was wanted and absconding in a case of demanding extortion from a businessman of Nazibabad in Bijnor, UP. A reward of Rs 1,00,000/- was declared by UP Police on the information leading to his arrest in above mentioned case of extortion. Accused Ajmal @ Pahadi was also absconding in a case of firing on the members of the team of Special Cell on 15/10/2020 in the area of Lado Sarai Delhi and NBWs were issued against him by the court in that case.

Mr. Jasmeet Singh, IPs, DCP, said, at about 5.50 PM, Ajmal @ Pahadi was seen coming from Badarpur side towards Pul Prahladpur Curve side on a Splendor bike when he was signaled to stop by the members of the team. But Ajmal instead of stopping dropped his bike, whipped out a pistol and fired 4 rounds towards the members of the team. SI Anil was hit by a bullet but he was saved by BP jacket he was wearing. Members of the team also fired 3 rounds in self defence in order to overpower the ah Ajmal @ Pahadi was injured in his thigh of right leg. He was finally nabbed and disarmed. 

Team of Special Cell was tracking the movements of above fugitive gangster Ajmal @ Pahadi for the last two months. A dedicated team led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar was tasked to develop the information. Surveillance was mounted on the movements of Ajmal and his associates & his hideouts in the area of South-East Delhi. Requisite intelligence in this regard was collected by the team.

Mr. Jasmeet Singh, IPs, DCP, said, a specific information was received that Ajmal @ Pahadi would come on a Splendor bike from Badarpur side and he would go towards Sarita Vihar metro station to meet his associate between 5 PM to 6 PM. A team led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar was constituted and a trap was laid near aforesaid place.

At about 5.50 PM, Ajmal @ Pahadi was seen coming from Badarpur side towards Pul Prahladpur Curve side on a Splendor bike when he was signaled to stop by the members of the team. But Ajmal instead of stopping dropped his bike, whipped out a pistol and fired 4 rounds towards the members of the team. SI Anil was hit by a bullet but he was saved by BP jacket he was wearing.

Members of the team also fired 3 rounds in self defence in order to overpower the accused in which Ajmal @ Pahadi was injured in his thigh of right leg. He was finally nabbed and disarmed. A semi-automatic pistol of .32 with 3 live cartridges and 5 live rounds from his possession have been recovered from the accused. Accused Ajmal @ Pahadi was immediately rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

4 rounds were fired by the accused and 3 by the members of the police team. A case under appropriate sections of the law was registered in PS Special Cell in this regard and further investigation of case is in progress.

BACKGROUND & CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES

Arrested Ajmal @ Pahadi is previously involved in a dozen criminal cases including of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, threatening, assault, hurt, trespass, theft, conspiracy, arms act etc. in Delhi and UP during last 10 years. In the year 2012, he had committed murder of a doctor namely Shamshad in Nazibabad, Bijnor, UP as doctor had refused to give extortion money to accused Ajmal @ Pahari.

In October 2020, Ajmal @ Pahadi was arrested by Special Cell after an exchange of fire in the area of Lado Sarai, Delhi. During the trial of this case, accused Ajmal @ Pahadi had absconded and he had deliberately avoided the hearing of court’s dates. Therefore, Hon’ble Trial Court at Patiala House Courts, New Delhi had issued NBWs against Ajmal @ Pahadi.

Recently, on 30-03-2022, a case was registered at PS Najibabad, Distt. Bijnor, UP against Ajmal @ Pahadi for demanding extortion money from a businessman. Apart from this case, many FIRs of extortion have already been registered against accused Ajmal @ Pahari in UP. Ajmal @ Pahadi is hardened criminal. In the above mentioned case of extortion, a reward of Rs. One lakh was declared by UP Police on the arrest of Ajmal @ Pahadi. Further investigation of case is in progress.
