TWO HELD FOR DUPING PEOPLE ON THE PRETEXT OF PROVIDING JOB IN AMAZON

The staff of Cyber Police Station, South East Distt. has arrested two fraudsters Moninder Shrivastav and Pramod Prabhakar. With their arrest, two laptops, two mobile phones, one mobile tablet, four debit cards and five cheque books of different accounts have been recovered from their possession. In addition to it, bank accounts with more than Rs 5 lacs have also been seized.
 
On 08.04.22, complainant Ms. Akansha visited Cyber Police Station, South East Distt to lodge a complaint wherein she stated that she had been duped with Rs 400000/- by fraudsters who told her to provide job in Amazon. She was asked to click on the link received by her through a sms on her mobile phone. On clicking the link, Rs. 4,00,000/- were debited from her bank account. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 36/2022 u/s 420 IPC was registered at Cyber police Station and investigation of the case was taken up.

Sensing the gravity of offence, a dedicated team comprising SI Atul Yadav and HC Satendra led by Insp Kuldeep Shekhawat was constituted under the supervision of Sh Manoj Sinha ACP/Ops and leadership of Sh. Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, Addl DCP-II/SED to nab the fraudsters. The team obtained CDRs as well as IMEI numbers of mobile number by which the complainant received the link.

Ms. Esha Pandey, IPS, DCP, said, on sustained interrogation, both the accused persons disclosed that they used to generate links to random people containing URL to get employed in Amazon company. They used to hack the mobile phone of the victim as soon as he/she clicks the link and an OTP was sent to the victim for initiating money transaction. They further disclosed that four other persons were also involved with them in committing such offences. Further investigation of the case is under progress to nab them.

The team analyzed the statements of various bank accounts. Through technical surveillance, the team ultimately came to know the name of holder of account in which the money was transferred by the complainant. His identity was revealed as Moninder Shrivastav R/o Shakarpur, Delhi age 42 yrs. The team raided at his residence and apprehended him.

Accused Moninder disclosed that one person namely Pramod Prabhakar R/o Noida, UP age 40 yrs was also involved with him in committing this offence. On his instance, accused Pramod was arrested from his residence in Noida. With their arrest, two laptops, two mobile phones, one mobile tablet, four debit cards and five cheque books of different accounts have been recovered from their possession. In addition to it, bank accounts with more than Rs 5 lacs have also been seized.

KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Moninder Shrivastava R/o Shakarpur Delhi, age 42 yrs has pursued B Tech. He is a fake web developer. No previous involvement has been found against him the other accused Pramod Prabhakar R/o Noida, UP age 40 yrs has pursued B.Sc. He used to work as a freelancer in e-commerce companies. No previous involvement has been found against him.
