The team of Narcotics Squad, South District has done commendable work by arresting an interstate drug peddler namely Aakash in case FIR No. 405/22 dated 26.06.2022 u/s 20 NDPS Act PS Sangam Vihar. From his possession, 10.86 Kilograms of fine quality of Cannabis (Gaanja) has been recovered.

The team of Narcotics Squad, South District was specifically tasked to curb the illegal activities in the area. Accordingly, the staff of Narcotics Squad initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. Consequently, the patrolling was intensified/mounted at the vulnerable areas for prevention and detection in the area.

Consequently, on 26.6.2022, a secret information was received in Narcotics Squad that one person involved in supplying of contraband substances would come in Sangam Vihar area. The information was shared with senior officers discreetly and as per direction a team comprising of SI Rajiv, SI Gaurav, ASI Ramdhari, HC Parveen, HC Jogender, HC Surender, HC Satish, Ct Sanjay, Ct Chottu Ram, Ct Amit led by Inspr. Umesh Yadav, I/C Narcotics Squad under the guidance of Sh. Rajesh Bamania, ACP/Operations was constituted to nab the drug peddler.

Mr. Benita Mary Jaiker, IPS, DCP, said, the information was further developed and a trap was laid near Hamdard Red Light, MB Road, Sangam Vihar. After waiting for 45 minutes, a person was spotted carrying a plastic bag. On suspicious the team signaled him to stop but instead of stopping he tried to flee from the spot. However, the vigilant staff successfully overpowered him.

Upon checking of plastic bag 10.86 Kilograms of (Gaanja) Cannabis recovered. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 405/22 dated 26.06.2022 u/s 20 NDPS Act was registered in PS Sangam Vihar and the accused arrested in the case.The accused identified as Aakash R/o A-Block, Sangam Vihar, Delhi. Age 22 Years. He was previously found to be involved in case FIR No.155/22 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Tigri. 

The staff involved in good work is being suitably rewarded.
