VALUE-ADDED COURSE FOR RESEARCH SCHOLARS ON ‘PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AND PERSONAL FINANCE MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENTS’ CONCLUDES

A Value-Added Course for Research Scholars on ‘Professional Excellence and Personal Finance Management for Students’ organized by Department of Botany and Sociology in collaboration with HRDC, Panjab University, Chandigarh concluded  on Sunday.

 The concluding day of the five-day Value-Added Course for Research Scholars on ‘Professional Excellence and Personal Finance Management for Students’ organized by Department of Botany and Sociology in collaboration with Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, (under the aegis of RUSA) covered sessions on Financial Instruments and Government finance schemes covering the special schemes which are more relevant to the students by Mr Sukhjeev Bajaj, CEO, IFM Fincoach.

The session evolved into the next session on How to make Money work and Retire Rich? The resource person, Ms Amanjot Kaur, a seasoned banker & Investment Guru and Director, IFM Fincoach, apprised the very inquisitive audience on how to invest, what to invest and when to invest, to be able to lead a secure and luxurious life. She also gave practical demonstrations on how to use a financial calculator, how to rate mutual funds and how to invest safely.

The session evolved into the next session on How to make Money work and Retire Rich? This session evoked a lot of interest and questions from the students. The post lunch session dealt with Work Stress and Colour Therapy by a city based Artist and an Art Instructor, Sonal A Singh. She introduced the participants to the world of colours and the significance of various types of ‘ras’ associated with each. She gave live demonstration on how simple art exercises can uplift your mood and destress. The students actively participated in doodling activities.

In the concluding session, course summary was given by the course coordinator, Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Department of Botany, PU, Chandigarh. The participants enthusiastically shared their experiences and take aways from the course. Prof Richa Puri, Department of Botany, PU, Chandigarh congratulated the students on wholehearted participation and successful completion of the course.
