To spread awareness among the students about breast and cervical cancer, Dev Samaj College of Education, Sec 36 organised a seminar - ‘Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness' at its premises here. More than 500 students from different Dev Samaj institutions attended the seminar with full zeal and enthusiasm.

The seminar began with the address of Chief Guest, Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Global Ambassador, World Cancer Care, who sensitized the students about the early signs of breast cancer and said that early detection can help evade the seriousness of the deadly disease.

During his address, he also raised various social issues related to girl child in India like female foeticide, dowry system, early child marriage etc. He further emphasized that these problems can be countered only with the help of Education and added that "Education is the biggest contributor for women empowerment in every society."
