The team of Narcotics Squad, South District has done commendable work by arresting a drug peddler namely Santosh Chaudhary who hails from Nepal in a case FIR No.585/22 U/s 20 NDPS Act, PS Malviya Nagar. From his possession, 1040 grams of Charas/Hashish has been recovered.

The team of Narcotics Squad, South District was specifically tasked to keep vigil on the activities of the criminals involved in supplying of contraband substance in the area of South District. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. Consequently, the patrolling was intensified at the vulnerable areas for prevention and detection in the area.

Mr. Chandan Chowdhary, IPS, DCP, South Distt, said,  the team further developed the information and laid a trap near front of Hanuman Park, Chirag Delhi. After a while, a person was seen roaming in some suspicious circumstances. On pointing out of the informer, he was stopped and on his cursory search, total 1040 Grams of fine quality Charas/Hashish was recovered from his possession. 

On 20.09.2022 at about 4 PM, secret information was received by HC Praveen Tokas posted in Narcotics Squad that one Nepal National involved in supplying of contraband substances from Nepal to India would come near Hanuman Park, Chirag Delhi in the area of PS Malviya Nagar.

 The information was shared with senior officers discreetly and a team comprising of Insp. Anand Jha, SI Narender, SI Rajaram, HC Kuldeep, HC Praveen, Ct. Vishal led by Inspr. Umesh Yadav I/C Narcotics Squad under the guidance of Sh. Mukesh Tyagi ACP/Ops./CAW Cell/SD was constituted to nab the drug peddler.

Later on, he was identified as Santosh Chaudhary. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 585/2022 Dated 20.09.2022 U/s 20 NDPS Act was registered at PS Malviya Nagar and investigation was taken up. The accused was arrested and the recovered Charas/Hashish was seized.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED:- Santosh Chaudhary S/o Pardeshi R/o Chirag Delhi Village, Delhi. Age 28 years. He hails from Nepal and came in India for the first time in year 2019 and started working at a Cafe. After that, he came in contact of a drug peddler (hails from Nepal) and started supplying ‘Charas/Hashish’ from Nepal to India.

Further investigation is in progress. The staff involved in good work is being suitably rewarded.
