HIMACHAL ACCIDENT: TOURISTS VEHICLE FELL FROM THE HILL, SEVEN DIES AND TEN INJURED

At least seven people were killed and 10 others injured after a tourist vehicle fell down a hill in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district on Sunday evening.

Accident is said to have happened on National Highway No. 305 on Sunday at around 8 PM.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kullu district told media persons that according to preliminary investigation, there were 17 people in the vehicle including the driver. Police and local administration teams reached the spot and started rescue operation.

Kullu SP Gurdev Singh said seven people died and 10 others were injured in the incident. Five injured were shifted to Zonal Hospital in Kullu and five are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.

Out of 7 deceased three were IIT Varanasi students.These include one girl student and two boys. Others are from different sectors. Banjar police station reached the spot and registered a case regarding the accident. 

SSP Kullu Gurdev Sharma told that this car was coming towards Jibhi from Jalodi . When the car reached near Jaloda, it went uncontrollably and fell into a ravine about 400 meters below the highway. There were 16 people in the Traveller .

Police, Home Guard personnel and local people had to struggle for three hours to rescue the injured. Some of the injured are employed and some are students. All of them had come to visit from Delhi through a travel agency. Due to bad weather, it was difficult to rescue the injured. Banjar MLA Surendra Shourie also reached the spot. MLA Surendra Shourie sought help through social media 

There was chaos here after the tempo traveler fell into the ditch at around 8:30 pm. As soon as the information about the incident was received, people from the nearby areas reached the spot for rescue. But due to bad weather and darkness, there was a lot of trouble in the rescue operation. The rescue operation took about two hours. The injured were rescued from a vehicle that fell into a ravine about 400 meters below the road and brought to the road through a forested and landslide-prone road. However, Banjar MLA Surendra Shourie also reached the spot after getting information about the incident.
