INTERSTATE DRUGS RACKETS BUSTED IN VARIOUS OPERATIONS OF DELHI POLICE, NINE INCLUDING DU GRADUATE NABS

NINE INTERSTATE DRUG TRAFFICKERS ARRESTED IN FOUR CASES  OF NDPS ACT, 1.118 KG OF SUPER FINE QUALITY CHARAS, KNOWN AS ‘MALANA CREAM’ WORTH RS. 01 CRORE IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET RECOVERED., 51 KG GANJA RECOVERED, UNIQUE MODUS OPERANDI OF CAVITY IN CAR., 50 GMS MDMA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS ECSTASY (MOLLY), RECOVERED, DELHI UNIVERSITY GRADUATE AND SON OF A BUSINESS MAN ARRESTED, THREE DRUG SUPPLIERS FROM HIMACHAL PARDESH, 03 DRUGS SUPPLIERS FROM UTTAR PRADESH AND 03 RECEIVERS FROM DELHI NCR ARRESTED. 07 MOBILE PHONES, 01 MAHINDRA XUV300, 01 MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT, 01 BALENO AND 01 HONDA CITY CAR USED IN THE COMMISSION OF CRIME ALSO RECOVERED.

To tackle the menace of drugs, Crime Branch, Delhi Police have chalked out new strategies to curb its supply in Delhi. Besides the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), other sections of Crime Branch as well as operations Cells of Districts have been tasked to launch concerted drive against drugs.

During the last week, Crime Branch launched several operations to eradicate the drug menace prevalent among youngsters in Delhi. All teams of Crime Branch were assigned the task to keep a vigil on drug traffickers. The accused arrested are being examined at length by a pool of investigators and information about their associates and networks is extracted. Forward and backward linkages are also being connected and nabbed.

ABOUT MDMA (ECSTASY/MOLLY)

MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly) is a stimulant drug that can cause hallucinations. It is known as a designer drug because it was created for the purpose of making someone feel high. The drug is popular among teens and youth who go to clubs, concerts, or "rave" parties. 

Police said, ASI Sachin Singh (ARSC/Crime Branch) had received a secret information that two persons namely Chand and Tejender both R/o Kullu, Himachal Pradesh have procured Charas from Kasol, Himachal Pradesh and will come to Delhi in XUV-300 car and they will supply it to one Rajan R/o Inderpuri, Delhi in Fruit market, Azadpur Mandi, Delhi. This information was developed through human intelligence as well as technical surveillance.

The information was checked through all possible sources. A team led by Inspr. Mangesh Tyagi comprising Inspr. Robin Tyagi, ASI Sachin Singh, ASI Ramdass, ASI Neeraj, HC Mintu, HC Amit, HC Paramjeet, HC Parvinder, HC Indrajeet, HC Abhinav under the close supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar ACP/ARSC and leadership of Sh. Rohit Meena DCP/Crime was constituted to intercept the drugs consignment.

Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, said, the MDMA supplier Aakash Mahla belongs to an affluent family. He completed his education from Delhi University. Though, he is trying to get a government job, but he is under heavy influence of the rowdy image of his close friends and got into drugs. He started his own business of supplying MDMA. His father is a business man & mother is a teacher in a Delhi Government School. His brother is also working in a renowned company as sales manager. He disclosed to have procured the banned substance from a West African national.

The second team developed further information through SI Rahul (ARSC/Crime Branch), separate team of ARSC led by Inspr. Arun Sindhu & Insp. K. K. Sharma comprising SI Rahul, SI Ravindra, ASI Deepchand, ASI Subash, ASI Kailash, ASI Ravinder Bhati, ASI Shashikant, HC Kapil Raj, HC Nitin, HC Bhupender, HC Devender and HC Gaurav Tyagi under the close supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar; ACP/ARSC and leadership of Sh. Rohit Meena DCP/Crime was constituted. This team was also working on the Himachal module.

The third team of ER-III, Crime Branch comprising ASI Satish, ASI Praveen, ASI Arvind, ASI Dharmender, HC Gaurav, HC Deepak, HC Pradeep, HC Rahul and HC Surjeet was formed under the leadership of Inspector Kanwar Sain and overall supervision of Sh. Vivek Tyagi ACP/ER-III and leadership of Sh. Amit Goel DCP/Crime worked on the receiver of illegal drugs Md. Shan @ Shahrukh.

The fourth team of NR-II, Crime Branch comprising Inspector Sandeep Singh with SI Ravi Saini, SI Pradeep Dahiya, HC Satyavart, HC Mukesh, HC Arjun, Ct. Naveen & Ct. Krishan under the direction of Sh. Narender Beniwal ACP/NR-II and leadership of Sh. Vichetra Veer DCP/Crime worked on the supply of MDMA.

OPERATIONS :  A trap was laid near fruit market, Azadpur Mandi. At about 3.25 PM, one Himachal Pradesh registered XUV 300 Car was intercepted and two persons sitting in the car were apprehended. On enquiry, their names were revealed as (1) Chand Kumar; 22 years R/o Village- Shoran, Panchayat- Ratocha, District-Kullu, Himachal Pradesh and (2) Tejender Kumar 22 Years R/o Village- Baksari, District-Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. One packet containing 590 Gram of Charas, concealed under the gear glove box, was recovered from the car.

In the meantime, receiver of Charas also reached there in a Swift Car. When he was signalled to stop, he did not stop the car and tried to flee away. Then, HC Parvinder broke the driver side window glass of above said car with his elbow and pulled out the keys of car. Ultimately, he was overpowered due to sincere efforts, dedication, great team work and a high level of professional competence. He was identified as Rajan Narula, 30 Years R/o A-block, Budh Nagar, Inderpuri, Delhi. Hence, a case under relevant provisions of NDPS Act was registered, and the accused were arrested in the case.

Further, another trap was laid near Shubham Nursery, Bijawasan - Najafgarh Road, Bijwasan Delhi. At about 12.30 PM, one Grey Swift Baleno Car was intercepted and two persons were apprehended. One packet containing 528 Grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. During interrogation, it was revealed that Goverdhan @ Bittu came from Kasual, Himachal Pradesh to deliver this consignment to Car Driver Amit.Another case under relevant provisions of NDPS Act was registered.

In the third operation, the team of ER-III, Crime Branch nabbed one Mohd. Shan @ Shahrukh; 25 yrs R/o Meerut, U.P. He is the receiver of banned narcotics substances. His name was disclosed by two drugs peddlers arrested earlier by Crime Branch. The team laid a trap in Old Seemapuri, Delhi and intercepted a U.P. registered Honda City car and recovered 51 kg Ganja with arrested of 02 accused persons namely Salman; 27 yrs and Talim @ Talib; 24 yrs, both r/o Sarvar Peer, Shamli, U.P. On sustained interrogation, the duo disclosed that they smuggled the illegal Ganja from Ankapalli, Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh for supply in Delhi, NCR and Meerut, UP and one Shahrukh @ Shan was instrumental in all the affairs of offence.

The team of NR-II, Crime Branch nabbed a noticed suspicious activities of a person later identified as one Aakash @ Bhanu; 30 Years r/o MCD Flats, Nimri Colony, Delhi sitting on a scooty. The accused was found in possession of 50 gms MDMA (a prescribed commercial quantity).

INTERROGATION: During interrogation in the 1st case, it was revealed that accused Chand Kumar and Tejender Kumar @ Tanju both r/o Kullu, Himachal Pradesh purchased Charas from various sources in Himachal Pradesh and supplied to various persons in different states on higher prices. Accused Rajan Narula r/o Inderpuri, Delhi is one of receivers, who converts purchased Charas into small packets and sold it to his customers.

During interrogation in the 2nd case, it was revealed that accused Goverdhan @ Bittu is a permanent resident of Village Saath, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh procured Charas from sources nearby to his village in Himachal Pradesh. Amit Kumar is one of his customers. Accused Amit purchased this Charas to sell it into smaller quantity to his customers in Village Daultabad, Gurgaon, HR.

In the Ganja recovery case, the local supplier Md. Shan @ Shahrukh has also been arrested after a marathon exercise. He was examined at length and it has been revealed that he purchased this illegal consignment from his associate (name withheld for keeping secrecy about the wanted accused) from Anakapalli district of Andra Pradesh. The Honda City car used in transporting the banned substance has been so modified that the Ganja can be hidden in boot and cannot be seen in cursory checking. The traffickers adopted road via Madhya Pradesh & Agra for smuggling from Andra Pradesh to Delhi and usually take 5-6 days in reaching Delhi. They sell the drugs at more than double price after trafficking.

Efforts are being made to trace the source and receivers of contraband. 

Unique Modus Operandi of transporting Ganja from Andhra Pradesh: A hidden cavity is created under the boot of the car and the vehicle is driven across several states without the drugs being detected at the various tolls and check posts.
