Takht Patna Sahib Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh on Tuesday rubbished all allegations against him and presented his side of the story in a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club here. It may be recalled that he had been declared ‘tankhaiya (guilty)’ by Panj Pyare last month, after being accused of embezzlement of donations in the form of gold and other items to the tune of ₹5 crore. 

The allegations were made by Dr Gurwinder Singh Samra, a resident of Kartapur. Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh said, “It is a baseless allegation against me and I have decided to put forth my end of the story before the media”

The Jathedar while addressing the media also alleged that several FIRs had been registered against Dr. Samra who had levelled allegations against him.

He said many things were also presented by them to Gurdwara Sahib by calling them gold. After checking all the things that were presented on their behalf, it was found that they were not engraved with gold. After investigation, all these items were proved to be fake. 

“When all the things presented were found to be fake during investigation, they made many false allegations against me”, he said. In these false allegations, Dr. Samra said that Giani Ranjit Singh has taken 70 lakh rupees from him, according to Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh, adding, Dr. Samra does not have any proof of this. 

Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh further told that Dr. Samra falsely accused of giving him 1.24 crore, but hey do not have any proof of this. “I was even falsely accused of molesting a girl. False and despicable charges have also been levelled against me like rape and abortion”, Giani Ranjit Singh stated. “All this has been done against me by misleading and showing false documents prepared by Dr. Samra on his behalf to the Panj Pyaras. The papers shown by Dr. Samra to the Panj Pyaras have my forged signatures which have been copied and pasted from some other paper”, he alleged in the press conference. 

 

“After this he also talked about presenting me a shawl of 25 lakh rupees. No bill has been shown till date for the purchase of this shawl from their side. A photo of him giving a cheque of Rs 10 crore to Takht Sri Patna Sahib was also sent to me on my mobile. Later he himself refused to give the same but we got to know that he did not have 10 crore in his account, which had around 2.25 lakh, when he had offered to give the cheque, which means it was a fake cheque”, he said. 

Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh further told that Dr. Samra falsely accused of giving him 1.24 crore, but hey do not have any proof of this. “I was even falsely accused of molesting a girl. False and despicable charges have also been levelled against me like rape and abortion”, Giani Ranjit Singh stated. 

“All this has been done against me by misleading and showing false documents prepared by Dr. Samra on his behalf to the Panj Pyaras. The papers shown by Dr. Samra to the Panj Pyaras have my forged signatures which have been copied and pasted from some other paper”, he alleged in the press conference. 

“Dr. Samra has been duped along with many others by preparing forged documents and is involved in many other cases. At present more than 40 cases are going on Dr. Samra”, he further alleged. 

Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh has also called the Punjab Medical Association to investigate the degree of Dr. Gurwinder Singh Samra as fake.

He said that no one has heard his side of the story. “Such a big action has been taken against me only by accepting the false allegations levelled against me by Dr. Samra as true. This is absolutely wrong and very condemnable”, Jathedar Giani Ranjit Singh added.
