ACCUSED HAD DUPED THE COMPLAINANT AND 27 OTHER VICTIMS TO THE TUNE OF RS.1,01 CR.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW)  Delhi Police has arrested Sarla Garg w/o Sh. Rakesh Kumar Garg R/O Sector-1, Palam Vihar,Gurgaon, Haryana-122017, in case FIR No. 34/2022 dated 22/02/2022, u/s 406/420/120-B/34 IPC, PS – EOW. 

A Case FIR No. 34/2022, dated 22.02.2022, U/s 406/420/120B/34 IPC, PS EOW was registered on the joint complaint of Mrs. Madhu Kalra W/o Sh. S. L. Kalra and 27 other complainants, alleging therein that one Sarla Garg used to run Kitty Party from her residence and had collected approx. 1.01 Cr. from her victim / neighbours.

The Alleged had promised to return the matured amount within 15 months, but even after passing the maturity period, she neither returned the principal amount nor paid any profit to the investors. After few months, the alleged along with her family members left her address and shifted to some other unknown place. 

During investigation, all the complainants/victims had deposed that accused Sarla Garg collected their hardearned money by providing lucrative schemes of Kitty Party with high returns. Accused Sarla Garg used to operate Kitty Party schemes from her residence and collected approx. Rs. 1,01,77,333/- (1.01 Cr.) from victims of the same society i.e. Badhwar Appartment, Dwarka.

Accused had promised to return the matured amount within 15 months, but even after passing the maturity period, she neither returned the principal amount nor paid any profit to the investors. The accused used her Whatsapp mobile number to chat with the victims and send the Kitty Party Scheme messages.

Victims unanimously stated that accused had taken money from them in the name of Kitty Party and promised good returns through lucrative schemes. Some complainants have provided the screenshots of WhatsApp chats exchanged between them with the accused. The accused misrepresented and misappropriated their hard earned / savings amount. On behalf of accused, one Mr Ali @ Mohd Shoeab used to collect Kitty Party money from victims. 

Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police Crime, said, Mrs. Sarla Garg W/o Sh. Rakesh Kumar @ Rakesh Garg, R/o Sector-1, Palam Vihar, Gurugram, Haryana, (Age 52 yrs). Previously lived at Badhwar Apartments, Sector-6, Dwarka, Delhi, where she met one Shilpi Gupta W/o Pankaj Gupta who used to operate Kitty Party in the society. She made friendly relationship with victims in a short span of time and she also started operating Kitty Party from her home. She induced victims, who were living in the same society and collected 1,01,77,333/- she fled from the address after selling her flat B- 002 Badhwar Apartment, Sector-6, Dwarka Delhi.

A team consisting of Investigating Officer Inspector Rakesh Raushan and ASI Poonam to nab the accused under the supervision of ACP Hari Singh Section II/EOW and overall supervision of Sh M.I.Haider, DCP/EOW for arresting the accused was constituted. Accused was arrested on 28.09.2022.
