BSF TO CELEBERATE RAISING DAY ON DEC. 4 IN AMRITSAR

A Curtain Raiser was organized at Officers’ Institute, Sector Headquarter BSF Khasa, Amritsar as a precursor to forthcoming 58th BSF Raising Day Parade - 2022 scheduled to be held on 04th Dec’ 2022 at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar from 0900 hrs onwards.

The Curtain Raiser was graced by the presence of Shri P V Rama Sastry, IPS, Add. Director General (Western Command) Chandigarh and Shri Asif Jalal, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier, alongwith other BSF Officials and various media houses. During the programme IG BSF Punjab Frontier introduced the media about the significance of the event. Thereafter, Shri P V Rama Sastry, IPS, ADG (WC) Chandigarh unveiled the 58th BSF Raising Day Parade display and released the teaser video of the event.

Further, Shri P V Rama Sastry, IPS, ADG (WC) Chandigarh gave a brief about the history & significance of BSF in the service to the nation and the importance of the event being organized this year in the holy city Amritsar, Punjab. During media brief ADG (WC) Chandigarh apprised that the event would be graced by the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai as Chief guest. The event will begin by paying homage to the martyrs by the Chief guest with the wreath laying ceremony, at the Martyr’s column, SHQ BSF Khasa, Amritsar.

Various shows including Gajraj & Chetak Drill by Central School of Motor Training (CSMT) BSF team that involves dismantling, obstacle crossing and assembly of motor vehicles, adrenaline packed daredevil motorcycle show by BSF Seema Bhawani women and Janbaaz mens team, Dog Show, communication contingent displaying the technological advancements of the force and special appearance by BSF Bagpipers will be showcased during the parade. Besides this, Tableaux of BSF Water Wing, Air Wing, Central Workshop and Stores (CENWOSTO), BSF Institute of Advance Adventure Training (BIAAT), Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Dte & Tear Smoke Unit (TSU) will be displayed during the parade.

ADG (WC) Chandigarh apprised the media that the services rendered by BSF, the technological advancement, professional excellence and the discipline of the force will be on display during the 58th Raising Day Parade. The parade will comprise of 12 foot contingents including Mahila prahari contingent, the famed Camel contingent, Camel Band and the mounted contingent.

He apprised the media that, the Chief Guest will also witness “Beating the Retreat” at JCP Attari, on 03rd Dec’ 2022.
