FOUR YEARS RI TO FOUR INCLUDING CANDIDATE, IMPERSONATOR IN A CASE RELATED TO POLICE CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT TEST (II)-2013

The Special Judge, CBI (Vyapam Cases), Gwalior, (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced  Umesh Chandra Sonkar (Impersonator), Anil Kumar (Candidate), Pawan Kumar Meena (Impersonator) & Jagdish Kumar (Candidate), all to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 14,100/- each.

CBI had registered a case on the orders dated 09.07.2015 of Hon'ble Supreme Court and taken over the investigation of FIR No. 431/2013 earlier registered at Police Station Kampoo, Gwalior on the allegations of cheating by impersonation in Police Constable Recruitment Test (II) 2013. It was further alleged that the said impersonator Umesh Chandra Sonkar was caught by the invigilators during the said examination, as his face did not match with the photo in the RASA sheet/ Test Admit Card. He was also carrying the photo ID of another accused. CFSL report also established that the impersonator Umesh Chandra Sonkar & Pawan Kumar Meena had appeared in the examination in place of candidates Anil Kumar and Jagdish Kumar respectively.

After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against the said accused on 13.01.2017.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.

A chargesheet was also filed on 30.01.2017 against a juvenile (middleman) before Juvenile Justice Board, Gwalior who was, earlier on 04.08.2021, sentenced to probation of 2 years for good conduct with fine of Rs. 10,000/-.
