BLAST CASE SOLVED WITH THE ARREST OF AN ACCUSED

On 07.01.2023, a PCR call was received in PS Sadar Bazar vide DD No. XX-A regarding falling of a wall at building No. 854-870 Qutub Road Sadar Bazar, Delhi. At the spot it was found that the staircase and one side wall were fall down due to a blast. Five persons got injured in the said incident in which one Gulab Madar was succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 25/2023 dated 08.01.2023 u/s 285/337/304(ii) IPC and 5/9(B) Explosive Act was registered in the present matter at PS Sadar Bazar, Delhi and investigation of the same has been taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION: In view of seriousness of the case, immediately a dedicated police team led by Inspr. D.V. Singh (Inspr. Inv.), comprising of SI Sandeep, SI Arvind, ASI Jagdish Raj, HC Sumit, HC Manish and Ct Sachin was constituted, under the leadership of Inspr. Kanhaiya Lal Yadav, SHO/PS Sadar Bazar and in the close supervision of Shri Vijay Kumar Rastogi, ACP/Sub-Division, Sadar Bazar to unearth the case, identification and arrest of the accused persons.

Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS,  DCP, North District, said, during investigation, the place of occurrence was got inspected by FSL Crime Team, District Crime Team, Fire Department, DDMA and MCD.

The CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas were checked by the team members. One of the CCTV Camera, installed in the premises was found working in which it was seen that the accused was giving a plastic katta to the deceased just before the incident to dispose off the same from his godown. Blast had taken place in the said plastic katta on the staircase of the building where accused has a godown at the first floor. During the inspection of the scene of crime by the crime team some traces of the small fire crackers were lifted.

Initially, the accused spread a rumor that the incident taken place due to the blast in a water booster motor and eloped from the spot. The team raided at his hideouts and finally nabbed him on 27.01.2023 who was identified as Mohd. Faiz, age-19 years.

INTERROGATION: The accused Mohd. Faiz, age-19 years was interrogated thoroughly and he disclosed that he had use to deal in fire crackers in festival seasons years back and on the day of incident, he was brooming his godown for storage of Holi festival items. He further disclosed that he gave the remains of fire crackers and other materials to the deceased person namely Gulab to dispose off it to somewhere else. He did not disclose about the explosive substance, kept in the katta as earlier no one was ready to dispose it off due to its nature. While the deceased was carrying said bag on the stairs, the bag blown up and the incident taken place.

The accused Mohd. Faiz has been arrested in the present case. Source of procuring of fire crackers is being identified.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON::  Mohd. Faiz r/o Quila Kona, near Kali Masjid, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, age-19 years. The accused is a native of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh and he deals in festival items in Sadar Bazar, Delhi. He had taken a godown on rent in building No. 854-870, Qutub Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi for the seasonal sale of festival items.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS: • FIR No. 643/21 u/s 5/9-B Explosive Act, PS Sadar Bazar, Delhi.

WORK OUT CASE:  Case FIR No. 25/23 dated 08.01.2023 u/s 285/337/304(ii) IPC & 5/9(B) Explosive Act registered at PS Sadar Bazar, Delhi has been worked out with his arrest.

The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to source of fire crackers.
