In a major breakthrough Chandigarh police has achieved a major success in a “Attempt to murder case” by arresting two accused namely Shivam @ Chintu S/o Anil Kumar age 23 Yrs and   Ketan S/o Amit Kumar age 21 Yrs both R/o H. No. 2291, Phase-II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, within 24 Hrs after registration of said case, in Case FIR No. 14 dated 27.01.2023 U/s 307, 34 IPC of Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh.

On the directions of Ms. Manisha Choudhary, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh and under close supervision of Ms. Shruti Arora, IPS, SP/City, Chandigarh a team was constituted at PS-31 Chandigarh under guidance of Sh. Charanjit Singh, SDPO/South Sub Division, headed by Inspector Baldev Singh SHO, PS-31, Chandigarh. 

Case FIR No. 14 dated 27.01.2023 U/s 307, 34 IPC of Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh has been registered on the complaint of Dinesh Kumar S/o Hari Chand R/o H. No. 1642, Deep Complex, Hallomajra, Chandigarh age 31 yrs.

Complainant reported that on 26.01.2023, at about 09:00 PM, he along with his brother namely Surjit Singh was going to Kissan Mandi Ramdarbar to purchase vegetables. His brother Surjit Singh was having garbage bag. Later, they reached near Kissan Mandi at Ramdarbar and his brother throw garbage bag to the garbage dump.Meanwhile, three persons were found standing there and those three boys started altercation with them. Later on, suddenly they attacked upon them with iron rod, brick and wooden stick, due to this, they sustained injuries and his brother Surjit Singh get serious head injuries. Both were taken to GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Later on, his brother Surjit Singh referred to PGI, Chandigarh who is under treatment there.

Police team under the guidance of Dy.S.P. Sh. Charanjeet Singh Virk, SDPO/South Chandigarh headed by Inspector Baldev Singh, SHO Police Station-31 Chandigarh made sincere efforts, gained human intelligence and showed professional acumen and has done a commendable job in arresting the accused on Saturday.

During investigation accused namely   Shivam @ Chintu S/o Anil Kumar age 23 Yrs and  Ketan S/o Amit Kumar age 21 Yrs both R/o H. No. 2291, Phase-II, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh have been arrested from backside of Tu-Hi-Tu Mandir, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh within 24 Hrs after registration of said case and recovered brick used in the crime on the instance of accused persons. Later on, medical examination of both accused have been got conducted from GMCH-32, Chandigarh.

RECOVERY: During the investigation, brick used in the crime has been recovered on the instance of accused Shivam and Ketan and same has been taken into police possession. Further, more efforts are being made to arrest the co-accused and to recover the sticks and iron road used in the crime.

Both the accused Shivam and Ketan were produced before the Hon’ble court, where they were sent to Police remand for two days for further interrogation.
