SHAM-E-GHAZAL ORGANIZED ON THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF JAGJIT SINGH

On Ghazal King Jagjit Singh's 82nd birth anniversary, Sham-e-Ghazal program was organised by Rashtriya Kala Mandir at the Ramjas Auditorium Seva Sadan Sriganganagar. The program started with garlanding ofJagjit Singh’s portrait; lamps were also lit in front of Maa Saraswati idol.

Singers Lavish Chugh, Tarun Anand, Kamlesh Kalyan, Dr. Gurbans Rahi paid tributes to Jagjit Singh by presenting his popular songs, ghazals and poems. Patron of Kala Mandir Vijay Goyal, President Virendra Vaid and Secretary Shiv Jalan welcomed the audience.

Vaid said that Jagjit Singh, like other budding artists, also faced problems in his initial days, the NGO had encouraged him. As a result, he entered the field of singing, scaled great heights, glorified his as well as his hometown Sriganganagar. The organisers honored all the artists, the stage was conducted by Sunil Sharma.
