MANSA’S MANJU CREATES NEW NATIONAL RECORD IN 35 KM WALK IN NATIONAL WALKING CHAMPIONSHIP

Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer congratulated Manju. He also wished Manju all the best for the upcoming Asian Games. Earlier, Meet Hayer congratulated Akshdeep Singh and his father Gurjant Singh, the first Indian athlete who qualified for the Paris Olympic Games-2024 by making a new national record yesterday.

In the ongoing 10th National Walking Championship at Ranchi today, Mansa district based athlete Manju won the Gold Medal in the 35 km walking distance event by setting a new National record time of 2.57.54. Manju, an athlete from village Khaira Khurd in Mansa district, also qualified for this year's Asian Games.

Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer congratulated Manju. He also wished Manju all the best for the upcoming Asian Games.

Earlier, Meet Hayer congratulated Akshdeep Singh and his father Gurjant Singh, the first Indian athlete who qualified for the Paris Olympic Games-2024 by making a new national record yesterday.

He assured the athlete of every help from the Punjab Government to prepare for the Asian and Olympic Games. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will soon honour him with a cash prize. The sports minister also said that he will come to Kahnake village this Saturday to congratulate him personally.
