NEW GUIDLINES FOR CRECHEWS UNDER MISSION SHAKTI ISSUED

THE HONORARIUM OF CRECHE WORKER AND HELPER HAS BEEN FIXED AT RS. 6500/- AND RS. 3250/- PER MONTH

The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India has revised the guidelines for Crèches under “Mission Shakti”.

Presently, Social Welfare Department, U.T., Chandigarh is running 56 Creches through Indian Council for Child Welfare where approx. 1000 children are enrolled.

For each Creche having upto 25 children, one Balsevika and one helper has been deputed.

As per the latest revised guidelines the honorarium of Creche Worker and Helper has been fixed at Rs. 6500/- and Rs. 3250/- per month respectively. As per the instructions issued by the Ministry 50% of the stand alone Creches are to be merged with nearest Anganwadi Centers by next year and the remaining 50% are to be merged with Anganwadi Centers by 2025 in order to have a single Anganwadi-cum-Creche model where the Anganwadi Services such as early childhood education, immunization, nutrition as well as a secure arrangement for taking care of children of working mother will be provided at the same centre. As per the directions of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, the Department of Social Welfare has already submitted a proposal for setting up 33 Anganwadi-cum-Creches in U.T., Chandigarh this year.

Further, as per the instructions issued by the Ministry 50% of the stand alone Creches are to be merged with nearest Anganwadi Centers by next year and the remaining 50% are to be merged with Anganwadi Centers by 2025 in order to have a single Anganwadi-cum-Creche model where the Anganwadi Services such as early childhood education, immunization, nutrition as well as a secure arrangement for taking care of children of working mother will be provided at the same centre. As per the directions of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, the Department of Social Welfare has already submitted a proposal for setting up 33 Anganwadi-cum-Creches in U.T., Chandigarh this year.

The Department is committed to provide all necessary facilities in all its Creches, in accordance with the guidelines and instructions issued by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India from time to time.
