ONE IN DELHI AND ONE IN HARYANA.,● ONE SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL OF .30 WITH 2 LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED FROM HIM.

A Team of Special Cell SR led by Insp. Shiv Kumar and Insp. Pawan Kumar supervised by ACP Attar Singh has arrested a notorious gangster of Lawrence Bishnoi gang namely Neeraj @ Katiya (age 30 yrs) s/o Narayan Singh, R/o Village Dubaldhan, District Jhajjar, Haryana after an exchange of fire near Qutub Minar metro station, Delhi. Accused Neeraj @ Katiya is previously involved in more than 25 heinous criminal cases in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. He was declared proclaimed offender in two cases in Delhi and Haryana. One semi-automatic pistol of .30 and 2 live cartridges were recovered from Neeraj @ Katiya. 

On receipt of a specific information in Special Cell on the intervening night of 04 & 05/03/2023 about the arrival of absconding gangster Neeraj @ Katiya between 2 am to 3 am on 05/03/2023 to meet his associate near Qutub Minar metro station, a trap was laid around metro station. Accused was seen arriving in a TSR at 2.40 am and he got down from TSR near above station. Members of the team tried to encircle him to overpower. He was signalled to stop by the members of the team but Neeraj @ Katiya whipped out his pistol and fired two rounds towards the police team at 2.45 am.

Mr. Alok Kumar, DCP, Special Cell, Delhi, said, arrested gangster is an active associate of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Accused Neeraj @ Katiya is previously involved in more than 25 criminal cases including 4 of murder, 2 of attempt to murder and others of extortion, robbery, kidnapping for ransom, hurt, assault, threatening, riot, theft, arms act etc. in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Members of the team also fired 2 rounds in self-defense to overpower him but luckily no one got injured. Neeraj @ Katiya was finally overpowered and disarmed by the team. A semi-automatic pistol of .30 with 2 live cartridges was recovered from his possession and 4 empties from the spot.

Accused Neeraj @ Katiya is previously involved in more than 25 criminal cases including 4 of murder, 2 of attempt to murder and others of extortion, robbery, kidnapping for ransom, hurt, assault, threatening, riot, theft, arms act etc. in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Accused Neeraj @ Katiya has been absconding and has not been appearing in various courts in many pending trial cases. He was recently declared proclaimed offender in two cases bearing FIR No. 477/2014 u/s 364A/392/34 IPC PS Anand Parbat and case FIR No 19/2021 u/s 147/148/149/325/323/ 395/397/34 PS Sector 10 in Gurgaon Haryana.

Neeraj @ Katiya has been actively associated with Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Neeraj @ Katiya is maternal uncle of Deepak Mundi. Deepak Mundi, was nabbed near Nepal border as he was wanted in case of gunning down of Sidhu Musewala in Punjab last year. Neeraj @ Katiya is very active on Youtube and he has uploaded many of his videos brandishing firearms on Youtube.

Neeraj with his associates had abducted a businessman when he was driving his car in Anand Parbat area and they demanded an extortion of Rs 5 lacs from his family in the year 2014. They subsequently robbed him of his car, cash and belongings and dumped him in Haryana. In the year 2009, Neeraj with his associates had killed a person in his village due to his rivalry in liquor business with deceased.

Members of his rival gang indiscriminately fired upon Neeraj in the year 2016 in which he got 6 gun shot injuries. In the year 2014, Neeraj with his associates had gunned down an army personal in his village to settle his personal scores with him. In the year 2019, he alongwith his associates had shod dead a man in village to avenge the attack on their associates by the rival group.

Further interrogation of the arrested accused and investigation of the present case is in progress.
