RAAHGIRI DAY EVENT UNDER THE G20 INDIA THEME - VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM” OR “ONE EARTH. ONE FAMILY. ONE FUTURE”

Delhi Traffic Police and Municipal Corporation of Delhi in collaboration with Raahgiri Foundation, Nagarro and Sustainable Mobility Network as knowledge partners successfully organized Raahgiri Day event under the G20 India theme - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth. One Family. One Future” with a focus on sustainable and liveable cities.

Approximately 2,000 enthusiastic participants, including a significant number of women and children (making up about 50% of the total attendees), gathered near Spark Mall at Kamla Nagar to celebrate a public space dedicated to promoting sustainable development, inclusive growth, and collective action.

The event was graced by the presence of Additional Commissioner of Police Traffic, Geeta Rani Verma and Deputy Commissioner of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, IAS Naveen Agarwal. Delhi traffic police officers attended the event in huge numbers and spoke to the participants on the importance of following road safety rules and safe passage for pedestrains.

The Road Safety Cell team from Delhi Traffic Police organized a painting and quiz competition for school and college students on the subject of road safety. In addition, there was a nukkar natak performance addressing various issues such as road safety, women safety and cyber crime. There was also a demonstration on first-aid and CPR highlighting the importance of golden hour.

Other units of Delhi Police also showcased their endeavours on the occasion such as demonstration on self-defense techniques by the team of SPUWAC and band performance by women police band.

The event was a resounding success, with a diverse range of activities such as cycling, walking, dancing, yoga, Zumba, sports zones, and more being organized for the attendees. Notably, the event attracted individuals from underprivileged sections who were also able to participate and enjoy the event.
