A friendly T 20 cricket match of G. Murali Trophy between the teams of CP-XI and Media-XI was played today at the iconic 'Arun Jaitley Stadium' Delhi. Sh. Vijay Singh led the CP-XI team while Sh. Suresh Jha captained the Media-XI. The Media-XI team won the match by 37 runs.
Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi was the Chief Guest at the match and remained present during the toss before start of the match. The flip of the coin favoured CP-XI team and the captain Sh. Vijay Singh opted to bowl first.
The Media-XI team team while batting first set a target of 196 in stipulated 20 overs. Sh. Rajesh Mehta of Media-XI hit a century and and remained unbeaten at 108 while Sh. Chirag Gothi contributed with his knock of 66 not out. Chasing the target the CP-XI team scored a total of 158 runs in 20 overs. Sh. Sikander Singh and Sh. Sharat Kumar Sinha contributed with a well played knock of 38 and 34 runs respectively. Sh. Rajesh Mehta, Sh. Anuj Mishra & Sh. Deepak Bisht of Media eleven took 2 wickets each.
Sh. Rajesh Mehta of Media-XI was declared Man of the Match for his inning of 108 not out, Sh. Chirag Gothi was adjudged the best batsman, Sh. Anuj Mishra was selected as the best bowler while Sh. Rajeev Kumar Ambasta from CP-XI was selected as the best fielder and Sh. Sikander Singh was the best all rounder of the match.
Sh. Sanjay Arora, CP Delhi paid floral tributes to Sh. G Murali and speaking on the occasion CP Delhi appreciated the efforts of organizers for organising the match every year in the memory of their late colleague and wished all the best to both the teams. A one minute silence was also observed in the memory of Late Sh. G Murali. Brother of Late Sh. G Murali also marked his presence through a voice message from overseas and his expressed his gratitude towards CP Delhi and media persons.

G. Murali Trophy match between CP-XI and Media-XI is played every year in the month of Februray-March in the memory of Late Journalist Sh. G Murali who died during a mountaineering expedition in the year 1981.
Spl. Commissioners of Police Sh. Dependra Pathak, Sh. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Ms Garima Bhatnagar and emminent/veteran journalists were present today to witness the match.
