In order to control organized crime in the jurisdiction of Outer District, Special Staff, Outer District has been tasked to develop information about the criminals involved in the crime and to make efforts to nab them. Their efforts led to the busting of a gambling racket in the area of PS Ranhola. Ten persons have been arrested along with the recovery of cash amount of Rs. 1,56,890/- kept at stake for gambling.

On 15.03.2023, a secret information was received regarding one person namely Sukhbir, operating a gambling racket in the area of PS Ranhola. On receipt of the information, a dedicated team comprising ASI Rajesh No. 5120/OD, ASI Shakti No. 5168/OD, ASI Sunil No. 852/OD, HC Ombir No. 1612/OD, HC Ramesh No. 1218/OD, HC Narender No. 3045/OD, HC Pawan No. 2206/OD, Ct. Manjeet No. 1718/OD and Ct. Aryadeep No. 2349/OD, led by Insp. Praveen Kumar, Special Staff was constituted, under the supervision of Sh. Arun Kumar Chaudhary ACP/Ops.

Mr. Harendra K. Singh, IPS, DCP, said, on the the basis of the information, the team conducted a raid at Vikrant Chowk, Balaji Road, Mohan Garden, Vikas Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, where 10 persons including the kingpin namely Sukhbir were found gambling with cards. All the 10 persons were apprehended and cash amount of Rs. 1,56,890/- kept at stake for betting and 416 playing cards were recovered from the spot. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 219/2023 dated 16.03.2023 U/s 12/09/55, The Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at PS Ranhola and all the accused persons were arrested.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT OF ACCUSED: The kingpin Sukhbir is previously involved in two other cases of Gambling.

RECOVERY: Cash of Rs.1,56,890/ AND  416 Playing Cards.
