Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) anti corruption cell reported to have arrested an ASI and a Head Constable of Chandigarh Police in bribery case on Tuesday night.
Both the accused have been remanded to CBI custody for two days. However CBI had requested the CBI Court to remand for 4 days but the court granted a remand of two days.
Both the accused ASI Virender Kumar, posted at Sector 24 Police Picket and Head Constable Randeep Singh, who was posted in Police Station Sector 11, Chandigarh.
CBI sources aaid, the action was taken on the complaint of a person resident of Dhanas. The person had written a letter complaining to the CBI, in which he told that, Head Constable Randeep Singh is asking him for a bribe of 20 thousand on the pretext on fake rape case and head constable already dcollected Rs. 10 thousands from him.

The complainant further said HC was continuing pressurising to meet ASI and to pay balance payment of Rs. 10 thousand. CBi laid the trap and both the accused were arrested.
