MARSHAL OF THE AIR FORCE ARJAN SINGH MEMORIAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2023 FROM APRIL 10 - 15

Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh's passion for the game of Hockey was unparallel. He was an inspiration for air warriors not only to lead from the front in wars but also in the field of Sports. Indian Air Force has been consistently producing athletes, who have represented India at various international competitions and brought laurels to the nation and for Indian Air Force.

Air Force Sports Control Board has been organising the prestigious Hockey tournament in the memory of legendary Late Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh DFC at 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh since 2018.

The 4th Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament-2023 is scheduled to be held from April 10 to 15, 2023 at Raghbir Singh Bhola Hockey Stadium, 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh. A total of 12 teams are participating including Bangladesh Air Force, Sri Lanka Air Force & Royal Air Force, United Kingdom, making it an international affair. The matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. Cash awards are given to the Winner & the runner-up teams.

Director General (Administration),Air Force will address a Press conference on 09 April 2023 at 1100 Hrs.at 3BRD. Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Maintenance Command, Nagpur will be the Chief Guest for the Opening ceremony on April 10, 2023, while the Chief of the Air Staff will preside over the Closing Ceremony on April 15, 2023.

The First Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament-2018 was organised by Air Force Sports Control Board and conducted at 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh from May 07 to 12, 2018, in which a total of 12 teams participated. The Punjab Police Hockey Team was the winner.

The second Hockey Tournament-2019 was organised by Air Force Sports Control Board and conducted at 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh from April 16 to 25, 2019, in which a total of 16 teams participated including the teams from Bangladesh & Sri Lanka. Integrated Coach Factory (Chennai) remained the winner.

The Third Tournament-2022 was successfully organised by Air Force Sports Control Board and conducted at 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh from April 18 - 22, 2022 after a gap of two years due to Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 12 teams participated in this tournament including Bangladesh Air Force team. Hockey Team of Indian Army was the winner.

The teams participating in the 4th Hockey Tournament are(i) Bangladesh Air Force, (ii) Sri Lanka Air Force, (iii) Royal Air Force (United Kingdom), (iv) Indian Army, (v) Indian Navy,(vi) Indian Railways,(vii) Punjab Police,(viii) Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala,(ix) Central Industrial Security Force, (x) Chandigarh XI, (xi) Indian Oil, (xii) Indian Air Force.
