ASTANA (KAZAKHSTAN) : India finished seventh in freestyle for men in the Asian Senior Wrestling Championship. With the help of one gold through Aman (57 kg ) and bronze medals by Deepak (79 kg) and Anirudh Kumar (125 kg) India collected 99 points.
Other Indians who participated were Pankaj (61 kg, 8th position), Anuj Kumar (65 kg, 7th), Mulayam Yadav (70 kg, 10th), Yash (74 kg, 9th), Jonty Kumar (86th kg, 8th), Deepak Punia (92 kg, 7th) and Deepak (97 kg, 5th).
The freestyle team championship was claimed by hosts Kazakshtan who collected 179 points. They adorned their showcase with four gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
Japan were runners-up with 129 points (1-1-4) while Iran with 124 points (1-1-3) were third. The fourth position went to Mongolia with 120 points (1-1-3).
