Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal, unveiled a 15-foot-tall statue of Shaheed Raja Hasan Khan Mewati during a state-level function held in his honor at Government College, Nagina, in Nuh district on Saturday. He remembered on the martyrdom of Raja Hasan Khan Mewati and paid homage to his sacrifice.

During the unveiling of the statue of Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati, Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal paid tribute to his sacrifice, highlighting his valor in defending the nation against the Mughals. He emphasized that the nation will always honor the memory of such courageous martyrs. The statue of Sahid Hasan Khan Mewati, crafted by Rajasthan sculptor Naresh Kumawat using glass fiber with Panchdhatu lap, stands at 15 feet tall. Hasan Khan Mewati is depicted seated on a horse, exuding a captivating presence. With a spear in one hand and a sword hanging from his waist, the statue epitomizes his bravery and valor.

Hasan Khan Mewati was a prominent Muslim Rajput ruler of Mewat. He was the son of Alawal Khan, the former ruler of Mewat, and a descendant of Raja Nahar Khan Mewati, who held the position of Wali of Mewat in the 14th century. His dynasty had ruled over Mewat for nearly two centuries. Ascending the throne around the age of 25 in 1516 AD, Hasan Khan Mewati took over the reins of the kingdom during his father's lifetime and undertook the task of administering the realm anew. During the reign of Ibrahim Lodhi, Hasan Khan Mewati, alongside a formidable army comprising Pathans, Jats, and Meos, attempted to resist the advancing Mughal ruler Babar. They confronted Babar's forces on the plains of Panipat, engaging in a decisive battle on April 21, 1526. Hasan Khan Mewati, leading 5000 soldiers on behalf of the Rajput confederacy, fought valiantly against Babar's Mughal army in the Battle of Khanwa in which he met his demise on the battlefield.

Upon their arrival at the state-level felicitation ceremony, members of the Meo community conveyed their appreciation to Chief Minister Manohar Lal, in a traditional manner by presenting him with garlands and tying a turban as a gesture of gratitude.

Sohna MLA Sanjay Singh, Rai, Sonipat MLA Mohan Lal Badoli, Cama Rajasthan MLA Nauksham Chaudhary, Haryana Waqf Board Chairman Zakir Hussain, Zilla Parishad Chairman Jan Mohammad, BJP leader Habib Hawannagar, District President BJP Narendra Patel, former MLA Naseem Ahmed, BJP youth leader Tahir Hussain and others were also present on this occasion.
