TRIBUTES PAID TO BSF MARTYR VIJAY KUMAR

Tributes were paid to Martyr Vijay Kumar who was posted in the 10th battalion of BSF in the terrorism affected area of Kokrajhar, Assam and was martyred on March 14, 2011 while fighting with the terrorists. 

Responding to the demand made by Dharampura residents, Gurcharan Singh Musafir, former District Education officer and father of Balluana MLA, Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir assured that to rename Govt Senior Secondary School, Dharampura in memory of martyr Vijay Kumar.  

BSF, remembering the supreme sacrifice of its jawan, gave a special guard of honour at the memorial in his native village Dharampura near Abohar. Harvinder Singh, Deputy Commandant offered wreath to the Martyr and said that BSF has a long tradition of sacrificing in line of service to the motherland. He urged the local population to help fight the menace of drugs by keeping vigil on the activities of suspected peddlers. Other officers also offered floral tributes.
