35 FALL ILL DUE TO FOOD POISONING IN JALALABAD

At least 35 residents including children and women fell ill reportedly due to food poisoning in Jalalabad town of Fazilka district, most of them had used daru atta products that are advised during the fast in Navratri, people said.

A victim, Kapil Gagneja, said that his family started vomiting, complained of severe headache and uneasiness after taking food prepared with the specialised atta. However, timely medical aid has given them relief by now.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal has instructed the police department to conduct a thorough investigation regarding this matter.

A total of 35 people who complained of food poisoning were admitted to three different hospitals out of which 34 have been discharged and the remaining one is in good condition.
