SERIOUS CONCERNS RAISED BY NEERAJ THAKUR OVER TENDER GEM/2024/B/4679836*

Face2News./Chandigarh

In a recent development regarding the tender GEM/2024/B/4679836 dated 27-02-2024, concerns were brought to light regarding the abovementioned tender number which was awarded to Prabhu Udhyog at a bid of Rs. 7, 51, 26,222, after offering a shocking discount of Rs. 1,15,345 by the party.

The substantial discount provided to Prabhu Udhyog has sparked suspicions of potential insider information or wrongdoing at the HSCC or PGI level, as such a noticeable discount raises questions of wrong influence. Moreover, the decision to reject all other participants except Prabhu Udhyog, a company lacking prior experience in similar projects, lacks transparency in the vendor selection process, adding to the alarm.

There are doubts regarding the rate and reliability of products in this tender, particularly due to the high specifications involved. Concerns have been raised about the possibility of the vendor not meeting the tender specifications, potentially receiving approval for substandard samples from authorities. The absence of well-established players in the hospital industry from the tender further casts doubt on the integrity of the process.

What further raise fingers and attracts concern is the failure to reissue the tender despite the presence of technically qualified participants. This is also raised doubts about the impartiality of the selection process. Mr. Neeraj Thakur while speaking to the media representatives shared that as a concerned citizen, seeking public accountability, a thorough and timely investigation into this matter is the right of the citizens and urgently requested. He added that an RTI application will be filed to scrutinize the procedure followed in awarding L1 status to the vendor by HSCC, and a complaint will be lodged with the vigilance department to ensure appropriate actions are taken.

It is imperative that a comprehensive inquiry be undertaken to address the irregularities and restore trust in the tendering process.
