The proclaimed offender involved in 35 years old case of murder, kidnapping and robbery, in police net.
In a major breakthrough, PO & Summon staff of Chandigarh Police under the directions of SSP U.T. Chandigarh and SP City, UT, Chandigarh in the supervision of Sh. Dilsher Singh, Dy. SP DCC and team headed by Sh. Hari Om Sharma, Inspector/Incharge PO & Summon staff is able to arrest proclaimed offenders/absconders.
Detail of arrested person: The state case PO namely Anand Kumar S/o Than Singh R/o Village Haranpur Kalan, PS-Dadau, Tehsil-Attroli, District Aligarh, Uttar Pardesh has been arrested from Kashganj, Uttar
Pardesh in case FIR No. 09 dated 18.01.1989, U/s 394, 302, 34, 364, PS-03, Chandigarh.
The case was registered on the complaint of Vidyawati W/o Krishan Lal R/o Village Kaimbala, Chandigarh, who reported that she alongwith her 11 years old son was going from Manimajra to Village Kaimbala passing through forest area.
Three male from her village namely Papu, Jaswant and Anand Kumar stopped her there and snatched her jewelry. As she refused, they attacked her with knife and got her injured. She ran away to save her life, but her son namely Onkar Singh aged 11 years was kidnapped by the accused. Later his dead body found in the jungle.
The case was registered against accused. The accused Anand Kumar was never arrested in the case so he was declared PO by the Hon’ble Court of Sh. B.R. Gupta, Additional Session Jugde, Chandigarh vide
order dated 01.10.1990.

The accused is very cunning, vicious kind of accused, who sped away to Aligarh after committing the crime. While his stay at Aligarh he worked as a laborer in a lock factory for two months. After two months he went to Agra in another lock factory.
After that he went to Panipat, Haryana and about seven years he spent there as a laborer in fruits/vegetable market. Then he went to Jharkhand and changed his identity as a saint (sadhu). After being a saint he used to change his address to different places to evade his arrest. After that he never stayed at a place more than two months.
He spent his maximum time in the jungle area of Jharkhand. The team of PO & Summon Staff was chasing the accused for about last nine months and conducted raid at his various suspected hide outs as well as his native place and succeeded to collect information that presently he was residing at some ashram in Chitarkut in the attire of Saint (Sadhu). The team then made the attire of fakir and searched in the jungle area of Farukhabad, Hatras, Firozabad, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Kashganj etc. in search of accused.
While searching at these places, the team came into contact one of his ashram mate, who informed that the accused is present in an ashram of Kashganj situated at jungle.
The team in the attire of fakir searched throughly at the jungle area of Kashganj. With the uphill and sincere efforts of team, they got succeed to arrest the accused after 35 years, who was involved in heinous crime of robbery, kidnapping and murder of a minor child. The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Concerned court.
