Under the Sri Sathya Sai Nethra Mithra, a state-of-the-art mobile ophthalmic mobile clinic service project, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti Abohar organised camps at village Dangarkhera and Sardarpura. At Dangar Khera, 284 persons were examined by Dr Lovely Kansal, ophthalmologist of Civil Hospital Abohar, 130 patients were given spectacles and 39 selected for surgery that will be done at the civil hospital here.
At Sardarpura, 298 persons were examined,79 patients were given spectacles and 29 patients were selected for eye surgery. Optometrists Inderjeet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Ankita did refraction of all the patients.
State coordinator of the project, Dr VP Sethi said that so far 2762 patients have been examined at this mobile clinic van at camps organised at Rajpura, Patiala, Bathinda and Abohar in Punjab. Many more camps will be conducted at different cities and rural areas of Ferozepur, Barnala, Moga, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Patti and Gurdaspur districts.
He said that the service project reflects Sai Baba’s vision of selfless service, striving to fulfill the healthcare needs of marginalized populations. By providing free, high-quality eye care services, this initiative ensures that no individual is left behind due to geographic or economic constraints.
The mobile clinic is equipped with advanced ophthalmic tools, including Fundus camera, Auto refractometer, Slit lamp, Lensometer, Snellen chart and jaeger drum, Trial set, additional laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
