An anti-drug outreach awareness seminar was organised at Khuian Sarwar village under AAS project. 

DC Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu said that the government has launched an extensive campaign for drug de-addiction, and such camps aim to eliminate misconceptions among people regarding quitting substance use.

SSP Gurmeet Singh said that while the district police continue their strict crackdown on drug traffickers, efforts are also being made to assist addicts in getting treatment.He appealed to local panchayats to encourage more people to visit de-addiction centres or local OOAT clinics for medical assistance.

During the seminar, 22 youths expressed their willingness to quit drugs, and the health department team immediately registered them and initiated their treatment.

Sant Baba Bikkar Singh emphasized the need for individuals to remain aware of their social responsibilities and stay away from such societal evils. Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Eric highlighted that with strong willpower and medical support, recovery is possible. He encouraged affected individuals to reach out to de-addiction centres or visit their nearest OOAT clinics.
