A one-month special training program on “Sewing and Embroidery Techniques of Textile Designing” for women under Scheduled Caste Sub-Project (SCSP) was launched on Tuesday at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Regional Centre, CIPHET, Abohar. The training will be conducted from 11 August to 10 September.
During the inaugural ceremony, Regional Centre Head Dr. Amit Nath said that this training is an important initiative towards making rural women self-reliant, increasing self-employment opportunities and promoting local handicrafts. During the training, the participants will be provided practical knowledge on the use of modern sewing machines, designing patterns, various techniques of embroidery, and market linkage methods.
Home Science Expert Dr. Rupinder Kaur gave a brief overview of the skills to be taught during the training. 25 participants from about 8 villages of Fazilka district are participating in this training. During the program, an initial demo session was also organized by Dr. Rupinder Kaur and Davinder Kaur.
