The renovation of the 49-year-old park near Railway Station here has been undertaken by Sarv Brahmin Sabha. The park was dedicated to the memory of Rani Lakshmibai, famously known as ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’, one of the leading warriors of India’s First War of Independence.
A function to kickstart renovation work was organised today in which MLA Sandeep Jakhar, Ravikant Sharma and Gautam Gaur were present as Chief Yajaman.
The foundation stone of renovation work was laid by Sandeep Jakhar amidst chanting of Shlokas by Nand Kishore, Aditya Mudgil, Yogesh Gaur and Satyanarain Sharma.
The MLA said that it is a matter of great pleasure that the NGOs are always ready for the good of the area and the Sarv Brahmin Sabha has taken the responsibility of making this park beautiful.
The shopkeepers of the market, Raghav Nagpal, Satish Hansa, Davinder Makkar and others said that 49 years ago this park was inaugurated by tall parliamentarian Bal Ram Jakhar. Today foundation stone for its renewal has been laid by his grandson and MLA Sandeep Jakhar.
They said that dozens of “Apna Abohar Apni Abha” volunteers under the command of Sandeep Jakhar have been working hard for the past few months to give the highly depilated condition a pleasant look and now its renovation will be done by Sarv Brahmin Sabha.
