The Indian Army’s Western Command organised a seminar on “Warfare Re-Imagined – AI at the Heart of Future Combat” at Manekshaw Auditorium, Chandimandir Military Station. The seminar brought together senior military leadership, domain experts from academia, professionals from the defence industry, members of the Gyan Chakra Think Tank, global experts and students from local universities & colleges.
In his opening remarks, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Army Commander, Western Command highlighted that Artificial Intelligence stands at the cutting edge of innovation, shaping the security of our future. He highlighted that it embodies adaptability, resilience, and readiness to face the challenges of tomorrow and at the same time, it raises critical questions for security and military domains — questions of independent decision-making, ethics, and responsibility — which go beyond technology and touch upon issues of life and death for humanity.
The seminar unfolded over thought-provoking sessions, each addressing critical dimensions of AI in modern warfare to include AI in the Operational Paradigm to Achieve Combat Superiority, Cognitive Warfare and Cyber Dominance through AI and AI for Force Readiness, Logistic Precision and Training Transformation.
He further added, the Armed Forces must remain at the forefront of technological adaptation, blending AI-driven innovation with the ingenuity of the soldier, to remain future-ready and safeguard the nation’s security interests.”
