ACCUSED ARRESTED IN 1.5 CRORES CYBER FRAUD FROM TEXTILE MERCHANT, REMANDED TO FIVE DAYS POLICE CUSTODY

The cyber crime team under the guidance of Police Commissioner Shivas Kaviraj and DCP Crime Manpreet Singh Sudan has carried out operation and succeeded in arresting the accused in a major cyber fraud case. 

Policer said, on 10 October 2024, Somesh Mittal, son of Rajkumar Mittal, resident of Sector-21 Panchkula, aged 43 years, filed a complaint in Police Station Cyber Crime Panchkula.

The complainant had told that he has a clothing business in Zirakpur. In November 2023, he was lured to profit in trading through Telegram and sent to download an app. The complainant installed the app and around 1.5 crore rupees were defrauded at different times till March 2024. When he suspected fraud and wanted to contact, the number concerned was blocked.

DCP Crime Manpreet Singh Sudan said that in this case, raids were conducted many times in the last 1 year but the accused was vicious and used to evade the police but continued to try and considering the seriousness of the case, a team was formed under the leadership of Cyber Crime SHO Yudvvir Singh in which Sub Inspector Bhup Singh, ASI Rakesh, Constable Himanshu and Constable Surendra not only collected evidence related to fraud with technical assistance but also during the raid. show readiness Thanks to which, on 4 September 2025, the accused Rajesh Kumar son of Kaidari Singh resident of District Etah, Uttar Pradesh was arrested. The accused has been produced in the court and taken on 5 days police remand.

It has been revealed in the police investigation that more people are involved in this fraud. On the trail of the accused, other accused are being searched and police are conducting raids in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. DCP Crime said that more arrests may be made soon in this case.
