District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia has ordered the closure of liquor shops, taverns, tobacco outlets, and meat/fish shops located within 100 meters on both sides of the Ferozepur–Ludhiana and Ludhiana–Ferozepur roads. The restrictions will remain in effect from the evening of November 19 until late night on November 20.

The order comes in view of a large religious procession scheduled on November 20, dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The procession will begin in Ferozepur district and proceed to Moga, halting at several key locations including Gurdwara Baba Jeevan Singh (Village Darapur), Gurdwara Tamboomal Sahib (7th Patshahi, Village Dagru), Bughipura Bypass, Gurdwara Dukh Bhanjan Sar (6th Patshahi), Gurdwara Sri Jap Sahib (Village Matwai), and Village Nawan Chuharchakk.

Deputy Commissioner Setia stated that the temporary closure of shops is intended to maintain the sanctity of the religious event and ensure it is conducted with full devotion and discipline.
