RACKET TRACED TO NAMAKKAL AND TIRUCHIRAPPALLI DISTRICTS OF TAMIL NADU, KEY AGENT ARRESTED; HUNT ON FOR REMAINING ACCUSED, INVESTIGATION SUGGESTS FACILITATING FAKE VISAS FOR JOB ASPIRANTS, SEEKING TRAVEL ABROAD

Continuing the sustained action against fraudulent visa rackets, IGI Airport Unit has busted yet another interstate network involved in arranging counterfeit French D-type visas for Indian job aspirants. An agent namely V. Kannan s/o Vadamalai, r/o Namakkal, Tamil Nadu (Age 55 years) has been arrested by PS IGI Airport from Tamil Nadu.
The matter came to notice on 28.10.2025, when three Indian passengers namely Naveeraj Subramaniyam , 23 years, resident of Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, Mohan Gandhi Elangovan, 38 years, resident of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and Prabhakaran Senthilkumar, 28 years, resident of Namakkal, Tamil Nadu reported at the Departure Immigration Counter at IGI Airport, seeking clearance to Paris, France.
During scrutiny, the French D-type visas affixed on their passports were found to be counterfeit and lacked essential security features. Based on these facts, a case under relevant provisions of BNS and Passport Act was registered at PS IGI Airport
Mr. Vichitra Veer, IPS, DCP, IGI Airport, said, during interrogation it was revealed that the fake visa of Naveeraj Subramaniyam was arranged by his brother in lieu of Rs. 6 lakhs, whereas, the counterfeit visas of Mohan Gandhi Elangovan and Prabhakaran Senthilkumar were arranged by an agent based in Namakkal District for Rs. 12 lakhs each.
A dedicated team led by Insp. Virender Kumar Tyagi, SHO/PS IGI Airport, comprising Insp. Sanjay Panghal and HC Sube Ram was constituted under the close supervision of ACP/IGI Airport. The team was tasked with tracing and apprehending the absconding agents and their associates.
Based on actionable local intelligence and technical surveillance, the team successfully located and arrested agent V. Kannan, s/o Vadamalai, r/o Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu—aged 55 years.
During sustained interrogation, V. Kannan confessed to his involvement and disclosed that he runs a government-affiliated ITI and also operates an overseas education consultancy at Velur. With the help of co-accused agent Sathik Syed @ Abdul Hakim of Madurai, he lured at least 16 job aspirants for warehouse jobs in Paris. Fake visas were arranged after interviewing the applicants. Some money was taken through bank transfers and some through cash.
Search for his associate is on. Efforts are also being made to identify other individuals involved and determine links to similar cases.

It is also to emphasize that during the month of November, a total of 26 persons, including 06 fraudulent Agents, have been arrested/booked in the cases related to fake/forged visa/passports. It includes the arrest of the accused persons wanted in the cases registered earlier.
In addition to this, regular action is being taken by the Airport unit against the touting and other illegal activities that are coming to the notice of the police stations. Total 28 Touts have been arrested in the month of November itself at the IGI Airport Unit.
