On 18.06.2022 a complaint regarding cheating in the name confirming railway tickets was received at PS Sonia Vihar, where in the complainant Ranveer Kumar S/o Sanduk Sahu R/o Village-Bakhari, District Samstipur, Bihar reported that while he along with his brother-in-law was travelling in Metro train from Jahangirpuri to New Delhi Railway Station to get a train for Bihar. On the way two unknown person befriended them in the name of being fellow traveler to Bihar.
To the tune of getting confirm ticket, both the alleged persons misguided and bring them to Sonia Vihar 3rd pushta, where a third person was introduced to them as TTE in Indian Railways.
Later, keeping the complainant and his brother –in law under fear of loot, they collected all their valuable items i.e. ATM Card, Gold Ring finger and mobile phone and kept them in a hand bag. Later they all vanished one by one with the hand bag.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 354/2022 u/s 420/34 IPC, PS Soniya Vihar, Delhi was registered and investigation was taken up.(SUBHEAD)
During course of investigation, a police team comprising ASI Subhash, HC Sunil, and Const. Ashish scanned and analyzed the CCTV footage of various Cameras ranging from Jahangirpuri-Vidhan Sabha Metro Station to Sonia Vihar 3rd Pusta to establish a trail of the culprits.
After thorough analysis, it was found that the accused fled on a motorcycle. Ownership of the motorcycle was obtained. Further on the basis of address and mobile number given in the RC of the motorcycle police team zeroed-in on the culprits through technical surveillance and local human intelligence.
On 19.06.22 on the instance of informer a trap was laid and a person later identified as Ravi Kumar Mehto s/o Ram Sagar Mehto r/o Nishant Colony, Pavi Sadatpur Loni Ghaziabad UP Age-38 years was arrested. On sustained interrogation he confessed for his crime and disclosed about his associates.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain , IPS, DCP, North East Distt., said on his instance a raid was conducted and his associate Kamlesh s/o Jagdish Sahni R/o Shakurpur Delhi Age-22 years were arrested from Shakarpur Delhi on 21.06.22 and ATM card, Gold Ring finger and mobile phone cheated from the victim were recovered from his possession.
Sincere efforts are on to arrest the third person. Further investigation in the case I s under progress.

Modus Operandi: Fraudsters used to lure victims/passengers in a well planned manner, on the pretext of confirming their Train reservations and flee away with their valuable belongings.
RECOVERY: One Gold Ring., ATM Card of the victim.Mobile phone of the victim.
